ok i placed this on another thread but got no response. maybe it was just the wrong thread to place it in. here it goes:

i got an . more like a custom version of a castle battle and some house rules. forgive me if any of these are official rules. input would be nice.

1. the def. army can add one more def. to the castle door if all adjacent spaces by the door are taken, but if an explosion or shotgun blast is used they do take the hit minus 1 skull being blocked by the door.

2. from what ive noticed (and correct me if im wrong) one can stack the ladders. so in order for an army attacking the castle to place a ladder outside its walls they would need to be adjacent to a
the hex where the ladder would be placed by the castle wall. for every turn a single fig. is adjacent to the wall 1 piece of the ladder is placed. for ex. 4 units adjacent to the hex by the castle wall set 4 pieces of the ladder per turn.

3. if 2 or more different armies each have their own castle and a limited time to play and would like to have an ongoing battle, i think i have just the version they want that would add points to add more to their army when they would continue another day. this would require to write down the total points they have. lets say they finish one day, and nobody is finished off completely, the next day they play they can add 50 points to add more to their army. another idea is that if one retreats back to their castle, after trying to destroy an opposing army and had a heavy loss, and wants to get reinforcements could add for ex. 10 points everytime they skip their turn. this gives the opposing armies a chance to attack their castle or to also skip their turn and add points to themselves.

what you guys think?

make a castle with VS (virtualscape) then edit in dots (to represent figs) or something with paint.

I have a four castle sets and we've had some walls that were double height. We found that squads were getting wiped by people who were very far above the squad they're shooting at. I mean, technically, if I built tower that puts Sylvarris 40 levels above an attacker it's ridiculous that he would still have range and accuracy.

So here's what we did. For every 10 levels up that a figure is, they subtract one from their range. It's kind of equivolent to the movement penalty for moving uphill. The basis once again is that we think range is based on the distance someone can shoot and still maintain accuracy rather than just how far they can get an arrow to fly. Seemed to work well.
