I saw this, and spent an hour this morning poring over the site. So insanely exciting! They have a friggin 20 minute gameplay video up too!

I tried to play Diablo II again a couple months ago and just couldn't stick with it. I'm somewhat disappointed that a smooth 3D representation was what it took to spark my interest again. Or maybe I just wanted something new. In any case, I'll definitely be keeping my eye on this one.

Who wouldn't be stoked, it's as big of news as was the announcement for StarCraft 2. Great time to be a PC gamer!! Woot!! This was HUGE news...now I know what that kookie splash-page image was all about on Blizzard's front page the past few days - the mystery is solved. :D :D :D

Oh dear lord. What is going on with the gaming industry? They just keep coming out with awesome games!

I'm now sad, I know my system won't be able to handle this game, :(

Ditto. My old computer here can't even handle the gameplay video.

I couldn't find my old Diablo II disc (I didn't look very hard), but I started playing Baldur's Gate again in quasi-celebration. Whoo!

The good news is Diablo 3.
Bad news is I'll have to get a new computer.

Either way, I'm re-installing D2 later today.8)

Same here, actually. By the time this game actually comes out, I'm sure I'll be in the market for a new computer though. Plus, I'm not exactly the type of person that gets games the second they come out. I am loving some Pokemon Emerald right now.

Baldur's Gate isn't exactly an alternative to Diablo. I'ven't played the first one, but Baldur's Gate II and Throne of Bhaal are excellent. Thanks, jerkface, now I have to play Diablo II AND BGII this summer. :x

My PC won't cope with it either. But I've learned the folly of upgrading to play one or two games in the past; I'll wait for "Diablo 360", or it's nearest equivalent. PCs are for word-processing and emailing on.

Maybe for you, the rest of us have upgraded to a brand new smokin' fast PC for only $600-700 (or less considering that new video cards can be had for a mere $100 that are amazingly fast). Considering that my last PC and my best buddies' gaming PC both lasted a good 3+ years with no problems or significant drop in quality, I'd say that's a heck of a good investment. Also, remember, when you upgrade, you can actually play as many games as you'd like, not just one or two. ;)

That being said, as far as waiting for D3 X360, you may be waiting a while but for your sake, if you're stuck with a console, I hope that it's not a long wait.

PCs are for word-processing and emailing on.And for playing games at superb resolutions, the ability to save anywhere in our games, more options for online play and in-game (nearly 99% of the time - see games like ShadowRun, Gears of War, or UT3 for a sad example of what happens when a PC game is consolized), and a nearly infinite variety of genres and innovation (the PC is known for being the best platform to develop and play innovative games on). :P

Seriously, it sounds like someone has a case of Diablo 3 envy.

(Just to clarify, this isn't meant as a mean-spirited post, RichardD...just joshing with ya.)

Yeah...for the record, if you accidently screw up while entering your birthday, you can't view any of the videos on the site. Well done, Blizzard. Another pre-pubecent saved from the horrors of tiny pixelation and drab commentary.

This is amazing!! I have always loved the Diablo games, part 3 is going to be awesome and I can not wait! So far though, I do have one concern about the game. I find the WoW character designs to be a bit....out of place. I understand though that almost everyone who worked at Blizzard for Diablo 1 and 2 no longer work for the company, but I am just surprised to see them add cartoony looking characters to this dark game. It is still early yet though, so I guess I will wait and see what happens.

This is making me want to start playing through both Diablo games all over again...just wish I still had my copy of 2.

Just read this on wiki.

Diablo III lead designer is Jay Wilson, a former Relic Entertainment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relic_Entertainment) designer credited with work on Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warhammer_40%2C000:_Dawn_of_War) and Company of Heroes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Company_of_Heroes). Its lead world designer is Leonard Boyarsky (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Boyarsky), one of the six co-creators of Fallout (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallout_%28video_game%29).[11] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diablo_III#cite_note-chrisremoblog-10)
As if being Diablo III wasn't enough of a reason to buy this game. Pure awesome 8)

Well for those diablo lovers that will be heartbroken over the wait for D3 to come out, you can always pick up Sacred 2 which is supposed to be released in September. I am currently replaying the first one and it is a great game. It is complete with lots of character choices lots of quests and you can even get to fight Dragons. So fear not fellow gamers the computer gaming industry is always there to bleed out wallets and our free time dry with hours of countless slaughter and violence. :D

Dungeon Siege is also a bit like Diablo in gameplay, though you can form a party instead of just going solo.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to finish Pokemon Emerald so I can play Pokemon Crystal so I can finish Diablo II so I can play through Baldur's Gate II so that I can play Dungeon Siege so I can finally buy that Wii.

One day at a time...

This game looks absolutely amazing! The graphics are phenomenal, the music is gorgeous, the gameplay looks insane, and the story and monsters are terrifying.

I'm guessing M, since the previous two games were rated that as well. I seriously don't think they're going to tone down the violence for this series.
