This is from "Threads" It was their answer to the really crappy "Day After" here in the US. This one followed the REALISTC effects across 3 generations.

Day After did suck alot! maybe they should make an updated version already, since we are seeing this subject more on the news now.

If I recall this one follows a girl, Rose I think, he is pregnant with the child of one of the guys under the truck. She gives birth then dies and you see the child all the way until she gives birth and well the child is a horrible mutant. It ends there. Lots of little factoid screens thoughout. More realistic that ABC the world is sunny after a full nuke exchange.

this just reminds me so much of the Terminator movies, which i hope they keep making. especially once the war against the machines begins
