Shows about people's jobs, and UFO/Bigfoot.

Am I the only one that doesn't like shows about people's jobs such as:

Ice Road Truckers

Biggest Catch

Axmen

These shows are SOOOOOO boring. It's the same... repeditive... thing... episode... after... episode. At least Dirty Jobs has some variety.

Here's how these shows typically go:

1.) Somebody does something wrong, and endangers themselves and/or others, and everybody gets pissed at him. Like almost dropping a tree on someone or someone almost falling off the boat, or someone driving too fast on the ice. This seems to happen EVERY SINGLE EPISODE.

2.) Something brakes, or someone gets sick, and slows everything down, and pisses a bunch of people off. This seems to happen every other episode.

3.) Just getting pissed off at other people/things in general.

4.) The boring, cold, despressing setting. Everything is gloomy. Endless freezing seas, endless frozen water on top of frozen sea, endless forests.




And don't even get me started about the UFO/Bigfoot shows.

Well, I got myself started anyways.

1.) This isn't even history... why is this on the History Channel? Same goes for Axmen and Ice Road Truckers.

2.) It's the same thing every episode. Some person takes a blurry picture of a log, and it's automatically a sea serpent.

2.) The Government denies stuff. Why? Becuase it's a secret stealth plane test that you don't need to know about, and not a flying saucer.

3.) The end of these shows is ALWAYS inconclusive.



I'm tired of these shows pushing aside Modern Marvels or Mythbusters, actual interesting shows with a variety of topics so they don't get boring.

I am pretty sure that 100 years from now, everyone alive will have been in a reality TV show. I'm waiting for the 'Top Graphic Designer' show, so I can try out for that one.

While I don't mind shows about jobs, if they're done well, I don't like nessie/bigfoot shows.

I do think there might be something hiding in the Loch, or in Montana, but I'm not going to firmly believe it until I see the dead body on the news.

Edit: PGS, you hit the nail on the head with the Mythbusters/Modern Marvels comment. Mythbusters has got to be one of my favorite "nonfiction" shows, and I don't see it on as much anymore because of the mediocre sludge on TV nowadays.

I acually love bigfoot alien shows. I just find shows, videos, stories, etc. about stuff like that interesting. It all depends on your tastes I guess.

Modern Marvels used to be my favorite show (Terminator Chronochiles now being #1, and MM being #2) .

I haven't seen a Modern Marvels episode in a while. Remember when the History Channel used to be called The Hitler Channel? Now it's just a bunch of NON-History stuff. I have a feeling it's pulling an MTV on us. :?

I LOVE job shows, like Dirty Jobs, How It's Made, etc. I HATE that Deadliest Catch is on EVERY SINGLE NIGHT ALL NIGHT LONG! Enough already.

Modern Marvels is EXTREMELY boring. I mean... honestly, between that and America's Next Top Model, I think I'd choose the latter.

What episode of Modern Marvels did you see? I could understand if you saw an episode about a bridge or road, but the one about wierd axis and wierd allied weaponry was interesting.

I have a friend who is currently shooting a pilot (he's the host) of one of those 'Dirtiest Jobs' type of shows for the Speed Network. Its called 'Busted Knuckles' and it's about working on extreme engines. In the first episode they are going to change the brakes on a 747. Kinda cool.

Like, a dozen different episodes. Mostly bridges, boats, planes, cars, guns, etc. Booooooring... I actually think I fell asleep during one of them...
