View Full Version : Favorite Hero?

Personally I vote Sudema. She is fun to play, looks cool, and basically will always be a "Check" for any Uber pieces that are ever released. Having a 20% chance minimum to destroy any figure regardless of size at range is a great addition to the game. She's also fantastic vs squad units. However, with low life and low defense she is far from unkillable and rolling the D20 always makes her somewhat of a risk. Her cost of 140 is pretty much perfect too. At that price she can fit in 400 or 500 point armies reasonably well yet with her low defense is a risk to sink that many points into her.

I think I'm torn between two: Taelord and Raelin. If I draft offensively, I try to have Taelord support 2 or 3 squads of Omnicron Snipers and we fight for the highground.

If I plan a defensive fight, I like to combine the Kyrie with the Minutemen or The Gorillanators. She, Raelin, pairs well with all of the Samurai or Charos too.

Who's your favorite Hero? The one fighter that is drafted right before your selecton and you tilt your head back and roar: Aaaaaarggggghhhhg! And then you calm down and concedingly says, "nice pick -pregnant pause - wanna trade?

Mine is by far James Murphy.

Wha?? you say...

For 75 points you cant beat his abilities.

I find him to be QUITE useful against the likes of Jandars Sentinals or the Samuri with his whip ability.

The hero I pick the most has to be Raelin! If placed right, she can really prolong the staying power of any army, plus increase the usability of samurai... And Sergeant Drake Alexander is a good pick for when you have to take a glyph or kill a certain enemy to get on with your game plan, and your opponent has a lot of ranged units. Otherwise, for looks and killing power, I have to say Krug, big, bad and mean!!!

But the high defense Soulborgs are immune to their defense-stripping abilities.

I can't think of any specific hero that I like more than the others. I like to mix things up a lot and try different options, so I don't have an army I stick with.

My favorite hero would have to be Taelord, I love how he can boost an armies damage output by so much, though, he has started to see less action, what with my group recently getting Morsbane, Sudema, and the lava expansion(My Toys R Us only just 2 weeks ago started carrying the lava expasions >.>)

It's funny, first game we played with lava, we had a summoning glyph right in the center of my "proposed" volcanoe(it was a bit triangular :/ ) First round Ae drops, Ae player wins init, walks an Ae on summon glyph, the two highest pieces are Tae and DW8k, Tae gets summoned, bam Tae dies. I felt bad for that player, just glad wasn't my Dw8k(three way, coincidentally Dw8k decided to go and wiff vs 2 skulls the next turn...bastard)

One other funny thing about the first lava game we played, I at one point was using knights bonded to Finn and Thorgrimm, well, off of a knight bond, I move finn into a molten lava hex to kill him off so I could attach him to a certain card, I rolled a 20 >.>.

So yeah, Tae ftw!!!11!one!!1shift1!

NE-GOK-SA, because he owns his oponents; Literally. At least every other game I play with him ends up with me stealing someones card.

The last time I used him he was my last figure...with my oponent having his full 390 points left (taelord, snipers, minions). I stole his minions on my first roll and wiped out his army with them. Mwuhahahaha.

We also notice that the longer we play the more we find ordinary rules (not lawyer questions) that we missed or were playing wrong. Without exception the correct reading made for a better game, and that makes me very impressed with the creators and testors.

And (this is for Newb.) thinking of Drake as Sgt. Rock, and maybe AE as Easy Company, changes my respect for those guys by a ton or two.

That happened to me the other day with Carr. The guy that drafted him went to use the sword of reckoning 4 and grabs 6 dice. I'm like WTF? And he reads the card. Turns out I missed that little word "add" on the description. I felt really stupid and greatly enpowered at the same time. I like Carr a lot, but 6 attack dice melee is a lot nicer than 4.

Carr should take down units quicker than they can take you out considering he has range and an above average melee attack.

But if he does get into trouble you can always engage a high defense figure with the one attacking Carr, disengage with Carr, and range them while they are stuck to a high defense figure of yours. (Major X17?)

Guilty McCreech, until Hasbro releases a Samurai Hero.

I just love the guy, though. Last time I used him was in an (otherwise) all valiant army: Denrick, 2x Knights, Finn, 2x Mass Line, Guilty. So what happens first round? Insane crazy cowboy shooting, that's what. For 30 points!

Hm, come to think of it, it might have been better to send out the knights to give guilty some cover. I didn't use the MM until the end of the game anyway...hmmmm

My children get upset with me sometimes.

They draft Taelord, and for the remainder of the game I will refer to the unit as 'Gaylord'.

It kinda psyches them out, and it gives me a 1+ taunting parent advantage whenever I go against 'Gaylord'.

In the end it'll be worth the therapy they'll have to endure later in life.

I match this sentiment. Drake and Carr with their 6 dice melee attacks have been looking better and better to me with all these biggies appearing. Also, the Venoc Warlord has always been a pal of mine. I've used him without any other vipers and he still performs well. Rod of Negation
Start the game with 3 brown Negation Markers on this card. At the end of the turn, if you have at least 1 Negation Marker on this card, you may choose any opponent's unique figure within 6 clear sight spaces of Morsbane. Roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 1-15, nothing happens. If you roll a 16-19, place a Negation Marker on the chosen figure's Army Card. All of that figure's special powers are negated for the entire game. If you roll a 20, destroy the chosen figure.

20% chance to negate
5% chance to kill

Spear of Summoning
After moving and before attacking, choose any figure you control on the battlefield, then roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 1-8, nothing happens. If you roll a 9-20, move the chosen figure to any space adjacent to Saylind. If the summoned figure is engaged, the figure does not receive any leaving engagement attacks.

60% chance to summon

Thank you for catching that. It has been fixed :)

Hey all what is your most fun hero to play.

I didn't make this a poll because I have seen some people that have "fun" playing Kosumet... so there really are no possibilities.

I've always been a fan of the shining/white look. My favorites generally aren't used a lot though. I wish they were a little stronger:

Sir Denrick: His special just doesn't seem to come into play that often and he seems a little expensive without it. I've thought about house-ruling it to Large/Huge, but I'm not sure if that would overpower him.

Concan: Good figure, he's just a little hard to use compared to other heroes.

Nilfheim: Awesome figure, no complaints here. He's easily my most drafted favorite figure.

I have always had Sir Denny as my favorite hero, and I have found ways to make him tougher. For the heck of it, I once had an army (for fun only not to win) that involved the Knights, Sir Denrick, Thorgrim, Finn, and the 4th mass. I put the viking champion's spirits into Denny and let him go to town on huge figures.

P.S. I think maybe a house rule of +3 or +4 to his special would work vs giants.

My favorite is definitely Raelin (a/k/a 'Winged Annoyance') as I always end up playing a defensive game.

I've also had great luck with Agent Carr (a/k/a 'Lavar Burton') and I always have to fight for him with another of our regular players.

Sometimes though I draft Finn just because he never dies! I draft him for his aura and he never freaking dies! But only when I draft him - otherwise he's dead meat. :D

BTW - our name for Taelord is 'Hot Topic.'

As my avatar shows, Syvarris is my favorite figure, since he can be used in most games. Johnny "Shotgun" Sullivan is also one of my favorite looking, for obvious reasons (look above my avatar).

Then there's James Murphy, who I don't actually own, but I like because of the whip. Indiana Jones is my favorite movie character, and the whip gives off the same air.

I think his special is definitely powerful enough, my problem is that it doesn't seem to come into play often enough to justify drafting him in most games. At most my opponent will realistically draft 1 or 2 Huge figures, and for the most part there are generally cheaper, more effecient and reliable ways to take them down than relying on Denrick.

When we've played with him nobody ever wants to kill him, giving him free run of the board for a while.

*glances at his avatar* I love my Me-Burq-Sa. His high movement, his bonding with th Legion (which then leads into Marcus, which leads into the AE etc.) and his Large size protects him from a lot of special attacks.

Marcus is my favorite hero... He looks "mighty" and fear-less with his stance, his stats are good enough to get the job done, which for 100pts, you can't go wrong, and he has good enhancements. Plus he can be used with bonding either from the Sacred Band or the Romans.

I'm a big Nilfheim fan which is why I chose him as my guy in the Crimson Cave. I like good people who are very aggressive at the same time. That is why I played Rugby for around eight years. I even have a tat on my back of a Dragon wrapped around roses. Kinda suggests a dual nature. I think Geroge Foreman is a great guy, really nice fellow but will crush you in the ring. I like people like that.

Apparently he likes Rescue Rangers. Can't blame him really...

And I also love Nilfheim. He's just a great balance of abilites and stats at a reasonable price. Never really seems overpowered either.

Finn doesn't boost range. Read his card again.

I think someone needs to read over their cards again :?. While finn doesn't directly boost range with his one skill, when finn dies, you can put his card on any UNIQUE squap or hero, with range not mattering, in that way finn can boost the AE.
