Has anyone ever read this series of short stories by William Wu? There was an anthology collection of sci-fi novels titled "There will be War" put together by Jerry Pournelle in the 1980's.
One of the storylines that was in most of them was a novella involving Wargaming on a national level. People, countries and corporations would hire Master Gamers to refight battles in history to solve legal, or national disputes. The games played like a gigantic version of most of ours on a supercomputer that could account for individual personalities involved in the actual battle.
I dug them all out recently and they are a gripping read still. Anyone else ever come across these, and what are your thoughts on the storyline?
