Some good news came out of this last weekend

I was watching Cartoon Network, and saw that a new episode of Samurai Jack was airing.

I can't believe it, after a few years, and I thought it was cancled, it is coming back on again!

And it will be one of the good shows on TV again, unlike some stuff like the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.

I can't wait untill they start bringing more stuff back. Flintstones, Dexters Lab, ect...

Those were the good 'ol days :sigh:

SWEEEEET! Samurai Jack was one of my favorite shows. It's little use of dialogue, actually decent storyline, and constant struggle of a central character to achieve a single goal, without the storyline changing every few episodes makes it a great cartoon.

I really look forwards to the release of new episodes of Samurai Jack.

Rep Boosted just for posting this. I'm definitely looking forwards to this.

They're not new. It's been cancelled for years now... they're just reairing it again for some reason. I'm glad to see it, though. One of the best American cartoons in years, and one of the best action cartoons period. But... just repeats.

HOWEVER! Currently, they're working on a feature film that should tie up all the loose ends and finally send Jack home.

I liked the handful of episodes I've seen.
Seems like a decent show.
Does it get formulaic in stories or does it progress in a grand story arch?

I believe it is in an arch, but the shows are split in a ways so you don't have to see all of them to know what is going on, except the first one.

It's very much episodic; mostly "Jack meets person, helps/fights them" stories. But there's enough variety in setting and formula to keep it fresh. One episode he's arguing with a Scotsman over a giant bridge, another he's chasing, in the nude, after an old woman who's accidentaly taken his clothes.

It's certainly worth watching if you can find the time. Fantastic animation, a unique look, just the right dose of action, and no real episode-to-episode plot, so missing it every-so-often doesn't send you for a loop.

Even if they are just replays, I am still excited to see them playing the series again. Hopefully they start from the very beginning and play it all the way through. I missed quite a few episodes throughout the duration of Jack's journeys to make it back home, and I would like to see what I have missed.

Do you have any specific information such as what days and/or times the show will be playing?

They started six weeks ago from the beginning. Every Saturday at 10:30 EST... Episode VII is this week, then VIII, then IX, so on, so forth.

Oh wow. I'm going to have to find someway to view the previous 6 episodes so I can get caught up before I begin watching again.

Thanks for the info, Johnny!

How many seasons are there? I own one through three, and never checked to see if there was a season four or more.

Giving this a :bump:, because tonight at 10:30 EST one of my favorite episodes is airing: Aku's Twisted Fairytales! I suggest you all watch it. It's really quite hilarious; Cartoon Network, roughly an hour from now. :D

Samurai Jack was one of the best shows i've ever seen. The making every bad guy a robot, so he could be shown cutting them up, without gore. The story was so well thought out too. SJ is an awsome show.

But I also do really like the Grim Adventures, and your username is extreamly close to my Gamertag / Bnet name. (its actually just the end number diffrence) Your a strange one OP =)
