If Transformers is anything like Star Wars Attacktix the figures common/rares are printed on the side of the booster packs or on a checklist inside the package. The silver bases are just rare buffer versions of the common figures. Its a blind purchase game, so I tend to discourage my son on buying it.

I agree. This little shoot-em-up game looks like a lot of fun, but the blind-purchase aspect will probably hold me at bay.

It really is a ton of fun. Except the when you kill a figure you have the chance to play a special ability. Most of these affect another figure. So, in order to play any strategy or play the game to its full, you have to have the complete set. Lame beyond words.

But playing w/o the special abilities is still pretty fun.

Rod, there is a pretty extensive messageboard dedicated to attacktix http://attacktix.proboards22.com/ with a long FAQ section to answer your questions.

I played attacktix before heroscape, great game for kids, but the blind packaging does wrack up the $$ - although it is a lower price point than heroscape, so technically you probably would end up shelling out the same price for a full set. I just completed Series 4 for about $50.

Hiya Phoenix! Good to see you here as well... I'm having trouble divvy-ing up my money between HeroScape and AttackTix!

i got some for my son, the missles get lost so easyly. The 2 in one package sucks. They have done this with starwars now too, it was like 3 before I think? The guy with the ball and chain does not seem to "swing" anyway.. yeah. missles everywhere.

what i meant to say was i picked some up for my nephew and i just open them up at the store to see whats inside before i buy em. you can fold the corners of the bottom flap and top flaps in to see who's at the top and who's in the bottom 2 out 3 ain't bad.

I love Attacktix!

I like the forum that the other guys talked about, but I think the Attacktix.com site is cool too. I got an Attacktix MySpace (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=193814354) if anybody is interested.

I was actually hanging out with the guys at Hasbro @ the 2007 San Diego Comic Con, trying to pry some cool Attacktix info from them when I saw a little Heroscape promotional figure, now I'm playing Heroscape too.

My daughter likes them 'cause it's quick and easy to play. We can just use the dinner table. Plus, she can take a couple to school and play with her friends. They were getting pretty intense. We actually got a letter tellign us they couldn't trade with each other ... they could only play.

I do hatesss the blind packaging ... so mostly we have the sets where you could see what you are getting. I buy her a pack every now and then. I don't worry so much about mixing them ... between the Star Wars, the Transformers and the Marvel ones ... I've really developed a liking for the Transformers more than any of the others. They're just "funner"

And, we have been known to use the Heroscape board for a game if I have it set up. Just substitue the hexes for number of clicks. You move a lot faster, but not too bad. Heck, we even use the water and height rules for movement...
