Family Guy is a bit different, since every episode is stand alone. I hate it when shows end on a cliffhanger. Surface was a good example. I stuck with it and it got decent reviews, but again there will never be closure. Same thing happened with Dark Angel, Strange Luck, and really Angel if you look at it. I know with Angel, Joss Whedon knew it was going to be cancelled, but still ended the series on a cliffhanger. The least they can do is have a two or three hour t.v. movie to conclude the series in some fashion. Damn t.v. executives.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT WAS CANCELLED?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I love that show. I know many may not agree with me, but I really enjoy that show. I thought it had a great amount of potential and oculd not wait for Wed night to roll back around. Where did you here/ read that invasion was cancelled?
We did see the season finale so why would they cancel it? I guess it was wrong for me to think that many others thought the show was a great hit.

Networks seem to like cancelling stuff. Personally I stopped watching invasion after being an avid watcher for the first few weeks. It just wasn't pulling me in; I didn't really care about any of the characters. Out of all the new scifi shows, on standard networks, Surface had to be the best and i'm glad they aren't bagging it, but there was talk about it happening so i'm still crossing my fingers until I see it back on tv.

I never did get into Invasion. Surprisingly, my wife did. It just seemed to take too long to get started. Then by the time it seemed to have a direction, I'd lost interest and given up.
I feel for you losing a favorite show, though. I hate the number of shows that died w/cliffhangers. Here are a few of my favs that deserved so much better than they got:
Space, Above and Beyond
High Incident
Wolf Lake
The Pretender
Babylon 5: Crusade
Otherworld
The Chronicle
Farscape
The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne
The Invisible Man (1990s - Sci Fi)
Dark Shadows (1990s - NBC)
Stingray
Firefly
Just to name a few. Some of these I miss so badly that I hold on to a dim glimmer of hope that there will be a movie to wrap it up or the series will come back, despite having been gone 10 or more years (hey, Star Trek did!). Some have had movies that did this, but it just wasn't enough.
I'm sorry you lost your show, though it was not a favorite of mine.

I heard that Invasion MAY result in a TV movie that tries to tie up the storyline, but that was a while ago....don't know if that's still the plan.

I really wish the networks were obligated to do at least a final episode that raps things up in some form or another. Like when the WB cancelled everwood this last season they had a episode ready to go if it was cancelled that wrapped up the story somewhat. At least firefly got a movie and family guy got back onto tv showing that sometimes the fans can stand up and make the idiots in suits take notice.
As to the person who said surface has been cancelled I would like a link to where you read that. I haven't heard anything recently, at the end of the season there were reports it was cancelled and then a few weeks later another saying it was getting a second season. If you have anything new please share.

YES YOU ARE MY NEW HERO!!!
Dead like me was good, as well as Invasion and Surface, but maybe shows like this are better without an ending.
If it's a great show, that has the potential to go for 3-4 seasons why not kill it off soon.
Go out while it's on the top, before it gets too complicated and it takes more $$ to pay for research and writers than it does to do the show.
Kind of like Spawn should have done around comic 90, :?

I couldn't agree with this more. That and the season 1 dvd of battlestar gallactica have sucked me in.
Who knew Battlestar Gallactica would be so good?

Yeah, I first realized Invasion was cancelled while watching a commercial for season 2 of Prison Break and there's Sheriff Tom Underlay (William Fichtner) from Invasion now the Sheriff persuing the escapees - A bizarre crossover maybe?!? Actually, Sci-Fi has picked up the first season reruns and this has spawned rumors that all is not dead for the Invasion.

Space, Above and Beyond
...
Babylon 5: Crusade
...
Firefly
AMEN!
I was lucky (and perserverent) enough to record the entirety of S:AAB from SciFi reruns (Digital Cable, unfortunately, with commercials intact  ). That helps - sometimes... :(
I really am starting to think that if it has a spaceship in it and it's not Star Trek, it's dead. But then, thinking about Enterprise...
BSG has one season left - bets?

Back to Invasion - I think that Sci-Fi should pick it up. I think the show would have eventually gotten good and the people that did like it deserve to see some sort of resolution.

I think BSG's future would be better if NBC wasn't footing the bill. That scares me. Other than that, it's one of the best edgy dramas on a non-premium channel since The Shield.

Sorry, but I wasn't speaking about Surface. I was referring to Invasion.
Dead Like Me is the show about the reapers right? If so, that show was cancelled? I thought there was a new episode just last Friday.
Oh and booyah Family Guy is back!
I also would like to see for myself where Invasion is officially cancelled. Rumors are dangerous and I don't deal with them.

Not season. SERIES.

Fichtner is quite entertaining on Prison Break....I love the tatoo becoming even more important this season.

I have to agree the addition of William Fichtner as the FBI Agent in charge (corrected from my first reference to his character as a Sheriff before viewing the season premiere) is making for a great new adversary to Michael and Lincoln.
So it looks like the only shows like this I am watching this season is Lost and Prison Break. I missed episodes 3, 4 and 5 of Season 2 of 24 and never went back to the trials and tribulations of Jack Bauer. I caught the first episode of Vanished this week my only comment ... People you are trying way, way to hard! I.E. The kidnapper is found dead a few hours after the kidnapping, a tattoo of the number 9 is found on his hand. The tattoo was inked post-mortem. Heroes has an interesting storyline - think X-Men - and deserves at least a chance. And, finally Kidnapped doesn't interest me at all ... I think I hit all the continuous storyline shows ...
