noob question

My son and I just started playing marvel heroscape, and I just want to get one thing right, this is probably a stupid question but if you use a special attack do you add that to your base attack dice,like if my base attack is 6 and a special attack is 6 does that give me 12 attack dice?

If you choose to use a special attack it takes the place of a normal attack, so you would use its attack value instead of the base attack in the stat box.

I thought something was wrong when Spidey took down Thanos with his web special attack in two turns. Thanks for the clarifacation.
