Now that we have a whole TCG forum, let me drop in a little plug for the only one I've ever played, the 24 TCG.
http://24tcg.com/
I am definitely not into the whole collecting aspect, but I like 24, and the gameplay at work here is pretty slick. I can't compare it to other TCGs, but here's what it has going for it:
Undisguised mature themes, but pretty tame graphics. Torture someone? Kill the president? Play as a terrorist? Use WMD? Yep, it's all there in the abstract. But because it's based on a network TV show, there's no real nudity or gore in the art.
It's a new game without a self-appointed priesthood or cut-in-stone wisdom from above. I'm pretty new at it, and I've already had more experienced players compliment me for seeing something they hadn't seen. A lot of the problems and questions in the game are still unresolved, and you can find your own way.
Relatively low cost. With two factions and 24-card decks, a very small collection can still support a lot of deck possibilities.
It plays great. I'm not going to expound on every last little reason why, but this game has it where it counts. It's skill-testing without being deterministic, and it's intense and fast.
Jack Bauer!I'm registered as rdhight over on the official forums (http://24tcg.com/forums/) there if you want to come visit.
