Forgive me if there is a thread on this, I don't think there is but I may be wrong. Many threads might have gotten moved around and I'm not really sure how to make the dot that's supposed to be in the title for the search.
Wall E! This movie looks really good, and funny!
It's made by Pixar, creators of Toy Story and some other stuff. Comes put June 27th I think.
I don't know how many adults will enjoy it, but looks pretty good to me!

I love kids movies and take my daughter to see almost all of them. You know if it's Pixar that you will at least say wow a few times with the phenomenal animation. We probably will wind up seeing WALL E but my daughter is really looking forward to seeing KUNG FU PANDA.

It does look like it's going to be fun. Everyone I work with is pretty excited about it, too.

"The Incredibles" is one of my favorite superhero action movies, ever, right up there with Batman Begins and the first and second Spider-Man movies. Actually, I'm going to go ahead and say it's one of my favorite action movies, dropping the superhero clause. It's just that good. The scene where Mr. Incredible is imprisoned by Syndrome? More emotion than some entire movie trilogies. That movie is what the Fantastic Four movie should have been like.
You hit the nail right on the head there. The Incredibles is an amazing movie, easily my favorite animated movie ever!

I am definitely looking forward to Wall E. However, I think the wife is more anxious to see it than I am. I think she likes how WallE's only friend is a roach. They had a short about Wall E on the Ratatoullie DVD. This is the final of a set of films brainstormed about over a lunch about 15 yrs ago. The first movie was Toy Story and I think we all know the rest. This movie will be different in that there will not be much voice acting. Most of the "vocals" are just synthesized sounds that resemble human speech. Don't worry though, John Ratzenberger will still make an appearance.

Wow. Such an excellent movie. Easily my favorite Pixar movie of them all (so far).
A truly frightening dystopian look at the future of our planet and species as a backdrop for one of the cutest love stories I have ever seen.
I can't reccomend it enough.

I watched it, and it was good. The beginning is kind of boring, but if you read any sort of preview of the movie, you'd know that the beginning had no dialouge beforehand, thus making the beginning more enjoyable. Overall, my opinion is the same as everyone else's in this thread - I recommend it! :D

I disagree. I thought the beginning was far more interesting than the later parts of the film with more dialogue. The expressiveness of the robots and the cockroach and the use of music was excellent. I thought those scenes were touching and evocative... easily equal to a lot of the old silent cartoons of my youth. I thought the movie was excellent, but I'd've liked it even more if the whole movie had been more like that. The robot interaction and the visual scope of the film were my favorite parts.

Ratings are high for this movie. I'll watch it.
I know how to say "Wall E" like Wall E does.

I too got a kick out of the movie. It was a little slow in places and I was afraid it was suddenly going to get all preachy on me about pollution, protecting the planet and obesity, but it didnt, so I was glad it stuck to its guns with its story and didnt take any unnecessary tangets. Overall, really good movie. I will buy it when it gets on DVD.

Fantastic. It was great for the 35 year old, the 8 year old, and the 3 year old in my group.

I really enjoyed this movie, it is definately one of Pixar's best. Actually, it's one of the best animated films I've seen, along with Ratatouille and Titan A.E. While a little slow and repetetive (how many times was Wall-E hit in the head?), I still found the movie to be entertaining.

I saw it, and, while the Republican in me liked the social commentary(People are happier when they learn to do things for themselves), the jaded cynic/pragmatist in me hated the love story between cute lifeless, soulless machines.
Not to mention the fact that instantly falling in love with the first moving (almost said "living") thing you see after several hundreds of years, other than a cockroach, doesn't strike me as a love story for the ages.
I avoided "Cars" for the same reason.
People should seek out a copy of the "anti-Wall-E" and see the Viz video edition of Galaxy Express 999.
Oh, and why is it that Fred Willard appears as himself, but all the other humans are cartoonish? Does anyone find this odd? How did they have those babies anyhow?
The relatively dialogue-free start of the film was very good, but we've known from the shorts that Pixar can work wonders without dialogue.
Finally, does anyone but me miss the hand drawn look in theatrical animation? 3-D coexisted with the cel look as far back as the ballroom sequence in "Beauty and the Beast". Some parts of Wall-E were so photo-realistic that they really didn't qualify as a "cartoon". (Besides Willard, I mean.) Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a making an "animated" feature? Wouldn't that be best left for designated "live-action" fare?

Heck - if that bugs you ask yourself this - how were they renewing their supplies of organics for 700 years?

Well, didn't you notice that the robots did practically everything else for the humans? I'm sure if you use your imagination you can come up with an answer to your question.
By the way, I too give this movie two big thumbs up. I was actually a little bit skeptical of the hype, and I had become jaded after reading some of the many negative reviews by yahoo users. But after about 2 minutes I was totally engrossed and enjoying the film. Visually it is stunning. Some of the jokes are very clever (I liked the spork gag), there were many different take home messages ranging from "take care of the earth", to "the need to be responsible with technology", or "the dangers of sloth."
But for the the main point of the film was that if we are not careful, technology can lead to isolation. There's nothing wrong with cell phones and iPods and Game Boys, but sometimes I worry that people are becoming increasingly isolated. My daughter prefers texting over actually talking on the phone. On the college campus where I teach students rarely are talking to one another but are talking on their cell phones. When we travel on vacation my kids don't look out the window, or make up games, or even fight with each other. They are wearing headphones and either listening to music or watching DVD's. This film shows what can happen (well, not realistically but at least figuratively) if all that is taken to an extreme. But Wall-E understands the importance of connection, the value of real relationship, and the power of a simple touch.

I didn't for a minute take the robot love story at face value. To me, it represented the need for a marraige between the past and future. The idea that our hope for a future lies in the hands of technology (Eve being charged with that task) is most likely true, and yet we also see the dangers asociated in a life bereft of competition and social interaction that can be caused by that very same technology. The consumer zombies are totally hopeless without the underclass of mechanical devices to serve them. Everyone is living under the roof of a giant megacorperation that even owns the government, and even goes so far as to dictate what color is popular on any particular day! I'm sure that didn't sit well with your republican leanings soberman.

I liked this movie a lot. It was very enjoyable, and genius that it had so little dialog but you could understand everything that was going on. I'm glad they still make good animated movies like this one.

Sorry to revive this thread, but I just now finally got around to watching this delightful, charming, and brilliant movie. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a score of 96% and it deserves every bit of it and more(100% in my book). Pixar seems to be doing what Disney did in the 90's, reviving the brand and putting out some great movies. Sorry to rant but I can't really put into words how brilliant this movie is! If anyone has not seen this movie they should see it!

Reviving what brand? Pixar's sole "weak" movie was Bug's Life, everything else has been a critical and popular hit. Never confuse Pixar with Disney - they are not the same thing and never have been.

It was cute and fun but overall, not something that I would be wanting to see another 4 times.
