Flag Bearer (too little, too late)

So a few months back I made a flag bearer based on sydcomeback's excellent Flag Bearer of Weston. Not wanting break apart a unit, I modded one from the unused Master Set.

I couldn't come up with a decent card idea, so I never posted it. Now that I see Hasbro is coming out with their own set of Flag Bearers, I figured that I'd post this anyway. At least we both had the same Japanese flag design in mind.

The G-men are my favorite figures out of the whole game, including my own customs. I will use them even after I have move on to diffrent games, I will buy this G-berer and once his flag has been updated to suit later games, he will be a mercenary no matter what armys I play with. How dare ye, seriously I love that figure.

Looking at the flag bearer images on the other threads, these appear to be simple mock ups with labels (stickers) on the flags instead of final art. But that's a discussion for another thread.

The only idea that I had come up with for the flag bearer was GLYPH BONUS 2--that while he occupied a Glyph, you would add +2 to whatever the Glyph's bonus was (ie. Valda would give +4 to Move, Dagmar would be +10 Initiative, etc.) I liked the idea until I picked-up the Tundra set and saw that same idea being used for The Deadly Frozen Wellspring scenario! :cry:

I know the "official" Flag Bearers are on the horizon, but any suggestions for a card idea to finish this unit would be greatly appreciated! :)

I think it would be reasonable to give a LoS-based bonus for something like d20 abilities or similar--to represent the army being inspired by their flag. General-specific bonuses (in addition) would also be nice. It would encourage general-themed armies, but not make flag bearers useless for mixed armies.

The d20 bonus would probably get used most with the Marro army or a MicroAgent army.

It ould in a marro, I have made a custom that says the honds do not have to roll, but the others would still have to. The marro are not an inspierd people so I guess Ideas for that one are still up in the are.

For him I would say that all Einar (or samur.) get a +2 D bonus, do not give him counter strike, thouh he would be clumsy with a flag.

TeeKay, yours looks really, really good. I'm impressed. Don't let the fact that they are releasing an official one hold you back from creating a custom that is different from the official one. It looks really, really good.

I am also curious why they chose the Gnator flagbearer. It makes more sense and looks really cool, but I just wish it was a Soulborg, or human, not they they would make more sense, there are just more of those in Vydar's army.

G'nators got some help from the Agents this wave, and this flagbearer will further help them. They work in a good combo now.

Anyway....I think a G'nator was the best choice for a Vydar flagbearer....a human agent would have looked a little weird carrying a flag I think, ditto for a robot. G'nator or an undead warrior would have been my choice.
