Gencon Call For Volunteers

I am going to be looking for event volunteers. I would like to use the same pool of people that I have used in previous years but will need a few extras. We are working under the WOTC umbrella this year and so we have many unknowns to deal with.

This years events will be bigger and there may be more events. They will start earlier and finish later.

ALSO: We will probably need many folks on Wed to help with maps, so if you will be at gencon on wed and want to help, just post a quick statement about wed.

I am definitely willing to help out GB. This wil be my first GenCon and I really do not play anything else but Scape so my "need" to be at other events is almost nil.

I can help set up on Wednesday.

Draconius, Thanks for offering. I don't want to make an example of you, but this really is the exact thing I don't want in this thread. I need folks who I KNOW will be there. I need this list in a day or two. I am glad you are attempting to get to Gencon, and I swear you will love it if you do, but this thread is for folks who know they are going, and are not afraid to give freely of their gencon time, often for very little reward.

I'm pretty sure that Saturday morning/afternoon will be spent in the dealer room. This will be the 1st day the wife and kids show up.

No. You can get into the other rooms just not the dealer hall UNLESS you are an exhibitor.

Update on my availability: I signed up for a couple of Wednesday games at the Ram - Talisman at 9am and [tentatively] Shadowrun at 1pm. If there are any Wednesday night activities at the Ram or downtown, let me know because I would like to "volunteer" for those, too.

I'm still completely unscheduled for Thursday and have nothing planned until after 5ish on Friday.

Hey Grunge,

On Saturday if you do not get a lot of volunteers because of the chamionship and the chance of being there on the second day, perhaps you could make a pool of volunteers who are willing to help and then sort it out Friday night after the intial championship. That may be a tough morning to fill because I imagine lots of us want a crack at the championship so its hard to say yes to Sat. Morning.

OK not trying to cause trouble but I'm wondering....why are we, aka G Bob, in charge of lining up folks to work these events. (Besides the fact that we would like them to run well) Wot-See took the events out of our hands and handed them off to their guy who is going to make a tidy profit off them Why isn't HE responsible for lining up folks?

I'll admit it. When it comes to my :gencon: time I am selfish. 4 hours would eat into my anal retentive plan than I already have.:D An hour during the say sure I am there for the greater good. Maybe if this was an offer of "goodies" aka excl to those that gave of their time. I don't know what the answer is.
