So, after last night, I have 8 on hand, 3 on layaway, I have 4-6 coming from Sandra (undecided now that I have to re-order I might get more than my originaly 4 :D ).

I went to the WalMart in Coppell today, they only had Master Sets, no expansions at. They obviously suck.

The Walmart in Grapevine only had Master Sets, Orms, and Wave 1. Not even space on the shelf for Castles.

I'm taking a trip to east Texas this weekend. I'll be hunting there and the east side of Dallas County. :D

I told one of my friends that plays 'Scape about the one castle set left at the walmart I picked up mine and it was gone. This was only in a two day time period but then again it is the most popular terrain expansion out right now.

I found 3 at a Target in Seattle. Luckily I work there, so I managed to snap them up. The bogus thing is there wasn't a spot for them on the shelves yet; I just lucked out and happened to be the one to put them in the stockroom. Anyway, if people want to try their local Targets and see if maybe the same thing is happening, the stock number at Target is 087-10-1351. They should be able to easily check backroom stock from the numbers. Happy hunting everybody. ^_^
Ok, what is the deal. Are the people at the Northgate Target the only ones that have brains and know how to use computers? There was a time when I went in there to the customer service desk, had them look up the RttFF stock number and they told me the 5 closest targets and whether they had them in stock. It was great.
When I call on the phone to the Redmond store (since I know that Northgate doesn't have any, thanks to you :P ) I tell them I have the stock number and they still transfer me to some poor person on the floor. sheesh. I was hoping they would just get me to a computer terminal person. This poor guy that they transferred me to sounds totally stressed out. I'm being extra nice and using my best phone voice. Fortunately, I can do this and work because of my happy little wireless headset.

Woot, might have found some! Not gonna say where yet, you castle swiping monsters!

Many had the infamous empty slot for the "Tower Set" as Walmart calls it.
Some of them had Wave 5.
Almost all had Orm's Return and the Master Set

Only one had the castle. Hodgkins, IL

It was weird because as I walked in I did not expect much since it was the dingiest Walmart I had visited out of all 8. Most of the stock in the toy dept was pulled out onto the floor, I don't know if it was because that dept had not been organized in a while or maybe it was a very chaotic weekend day.

Ok, so the Redmond Target showed that the Issaquah Target had 3 Castles, but when I called Issaquah, they said they had none out or in back. So then I called the Lynnwood Walmart that had said they were going to get 6 in this past week. They hadn't called me when the were stocked as was implied in my conversation before, but when I called today, they had one left.
The nice Monica person put it on hold for me until 5pm and I went to pick it up. Work just had to lose me for an hour ;) Just as a reminder to people looking for this information, stock numbers can help when making phone calls.

That's the good news. On the negative side, due to some recent spending sprees (ie gencon and wave 5) I had to pass the castles off as "the perfect birthday present" for our boy. She saw right through me though and said she would wrap one for him and one for me at his party in October.

ok so after checking the 15 walmarts in raleigh/durham once or twice a week for a while now, castle sets just started showing up. I went to 3 stores yesterday and saw 1 set at one walmart, 3 atn the next, and 4 at the third! I picked up 5 of them (3 remaining at the walmart at 6600 glennwood if anyone around here reads this)

I just left a Wal-Mart in Albert Lea, MN... I was a little disappointed to find they still had no castles not even a label on the shelf - no hope for the future :cry: Then as I started to leave to board game section I notice what looks like a HS box.... yes it is a castle set. I am wondering who left on the shelf with all these toys.... Then I see it had a tag/label on the shelf next to it. I question why they stocked the shelves like this, so I tracked down a worker to let them know they should move the castle sets next to the other HS sets. She informed me the display comes from Wal-Mart like that and Corporate dictates this location. She didn't believe me when I suggested it may be a mistake, and I gave up knowing she was not going to forward my observation to anyone.

My point of this story... Just because the store looks like they don't have castles yet may not mean they don't... they may be hiding on other shelves. Good Luck

I picked up the DCPI from Target.com and made one call to Target got all the help I wanted.

WALMART CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS!!!!

The Target rep checked stock (in stock), checked the floor (not out), checked the back (found them) and pulled them out for me (no problem)!!! All with a smile on her face.

That puts me up to 4 and boom up to 2.

The DCPI number is 087-10-1351.

I think that there are plenty around the PHX area. I have two....waiting for my B-day to buy a couple more. (Easier to justify with DW!) All the others that I play with have at least two sets as well.

I am busy figuring out how I am going to get the 10 MS that I had my sister-in-law buy in Cincinatti back to PHX. At $10 a set, I couldn't resist. I think I can get them shipped via the USPS media rate and it will only cost around $30-40 for all of them...however if I can be patient my in-laws are driving out to PHX in November and are willing to load the truck up!

For anyone who plays heroscape here in Hawaii, other than me, there are castle sets at Walmart now.
What I don't understand is that I would see the castle set on their shelves and not raknar's vision.
There are four sets in the Mililani Walmart.
I got one and am going back tomorrow to put another on layaway, cause I don't want to spend anymore until my next paycheck and I want to make sure I have a set waiting for me.
Oh, and they're $28.99.

I put one of the two that I bought together last night and was actually impressed by the size of the damn thing. For those who only use one basic set, this things going to chew up a lot of space and scenery.

BTW, are there general rules about point handicaps for the castle and its occupant(s)? I see in the included scenarios that the occupier has fewer points of army but don't see any clear algorithm for determing this on one's own.

I don't know what this means for all of our orders through Sandra, but the Hasbro store has changed their castle expansion set page (http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/ProductsByBrand.htm?ID=17794&BR=746); instead of saying that delivery will begin 9/15, it now says "Availability: Usually ships within one business day". Perhaps the big shipment of castle sets arrived early?

Checking to see whether they have any 'your order won't ship until 9/15' gotcha buried in the checkout process, there's an interesting note -- try to order more than one set, and you get this message when you click on the Checkout button: "You have exceeded the maximum per-item quantity (1) for item HEROSCAPE Game System Castle Expansion Set. Please revise the quantity and update your cart before proceeding to checkout." Looks as if Hasbro underestimated the popularity of the product and is short of stock...

I'm tired of waiting for Hasbro. I'm heading out today to hit every Walmart, Target, and TRUs in a 100-mile radius. Hopefully I'll bring something back for all my loyal customers. (This is just NUTS! Hasbro won't even respond to my emails to confirm the revised Sept 15 due date! And I just checked the Hasbro.com site and it says it's unavailable...guess it sold out already. )

It's actually the same situation here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. All the Wally Worlds have castle sets, but no Raknar's Vision (GRRRRR!) or Wave 5 (Double GRRRRRR!). :cry: It's maddening to know something is supposed to be available but you cannot get it..... :(

I just left a Wal-Mart in Albert Lea, MN... I was a little disappointed to find they still had no castles not even a label on the shelf - no hope for the future :cry: Then as I started to leave to board game section I notice what looks like a HS box.... yes it is a castle set. I am wondering who left on the shelf with all these toys.... Then I see it had a tag/label on the shelf next to it. I question why they stocked the shelves like this, so I tracked down a worker to let them know they should move the castle sets next to the other HS sets. She informed me the display comes from Wal-Mart like that and Corporate dictates this location. She didn't believe me when I suggested it may be a mistake, and I gave up knowing she was not going to forward my observation to anyone.

My point of this story... Just because the store looks like they don't have castles yet may not mean they don't... they may be hiding on other shelves. Good Luck

Mason City, Iowa Wal-Mart does have castles..... they were hard to find as they aren't with the other expansions or master sets ... the castles were at least 20' away from the rest of the HS items. Same as the Albert Lea Store the shelf was labeled to be stocked that way. This has to be a mistake, but beware when you are hunting for castles they may not be were you would think.

The castle set at the Hasbro online store (http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/ProductsByBrand.htm?BR=746&ID=17794&PG=1) is showing as "Out-of-Stock". Interestingly, the two orders I placed for castle sets on 9/13 when the page stated "usually ships within 1 business day", and which on 9/15, 9/16, and 9/17 reported as 'not yet shipped' on the order status page, now report as 'fully shipped' with a ship date of 9/15. Seems to me that Hasbro either has a severe problem with timely updates to order status information on their site, or they're retconning their order information to make it look as if they're fulfilling orders faster than they really are.

The Northgate Target in Seattle, WA has a box of three castles in the stockroom, but unfortunately, there's still no place for them on the shelf, so you'd have to ask an employee to get it from the back. I know exactly where they are, but if you want to try to get them, be sure to bring the DPCI number. I can't guarantee I'll be the one to pull it. ^_^
