So who all on here plays mmorpgs? And who is looking forward to AoC?

I've played just about every mainstream mmorpg, and a few that weren't, that's come about and AoC is definately going to be the next big thing imo. Of course it doesn't come out until probably middle of next year, but currently the only one I have running is DDO and my interest has been waning with most of my friends interested in ransacking chests (same quests over and over) and little else. I got out of WoW because I was tired of loot progression grinding and ended up finding the same thing in DDO, just without the option to pvp hehe

AoC is rated M, which may make a nice difference in regards to kids clogging up the servers. Then you get to build castles, lay siege to them, and have drunken bar fights. The game just has me drooling in anticipation.

Aoc has been "announced" well over a yr man..and they keep pushing it back...which is one reason I've no inquired about the beta, etc, for it...

as to mmorpg's I've played several and the ones I've played, well after awhile it just gets blah mostly..I like WoW..I don't like the gold farmers or the raiders..or the whiney kids...
AO was kewl, lotsa fun esp if ye knew alot of ppl, but it got repetitive..

cheers

Yeah from everyone i've ever talked to the first mmorpg was hands down the best ever and from there it's kind of a rollercoaster that never really reaches the same heights.

WoW really had me until they decided they wanted to cater to raid community. I think you have to be a little crazy to enjoy 3-6 hours in a dungeon for a small, very small, chance that you'll get a piece of loot and then do it over and over again.

Well when you know that a game will come out then having them push it back is never really a bad thing. Of course it seems that way, because it takes that much longer to get your hands on it, but at least they're trying to work out all the problems before you start paying them monthly fees to finish the game. It will probably end up happening anyhow, it seems like every mmorpg that comes out now expects customers to pay for the last 3-6 months of development through patches.
