Ok im sure you have read about K/H ranting about how bad he wants a 8000. Well im prolly getting Orm's here soon and he said he would try me his Q9 for it. Then another guy in our group said he would try me a full set of orcs and two swoogys and i already have one set. Is that a good trade for me? I wasnt sure and just needed some help. Thx in advance

So the deals are...
8K>Q9
or
8K> orcs and 2 swogs?
Id go with the orcs if I were you, plus you getting krug in that pack as well if im correct.

that would be a pretty good army..

A full set of orcs?
Meaning Grut orcs and the Archers?
AND 2 Swog Riders? (that came in a pack with the terrible K-niggits)

Man - that's like effectively 3 packs worth of figs.
For DW8000, which is one of the worst units in the game (130 points, 1 Life and only 8 defense), from an expansion that has been sitting in extra stock on shelves almost everywhere for a year?

Wow - you take that orc trade and try not to laugh at him for it.

Krug doesn't come with orcs. Krug comes with Me-Burq-Sa, Denrick, and Khosumet.

Oh ya your right, I thought he came with DW8k and a few other figs in a large pack. Oh well.

I think both parties that want to trade with you are crazy. For the record I will trade with the "orc guy" if you don't.

no. you all have it wrong. I have Q9. I want DW8K. Chris wants my Q9. JOsh wants Chris's Orcs. I can take chris's DW8K for my q9 and completely screw josh (PoF) over

OR

I can trade my Q9 to josh fr his DW8K when he gets it, and josh can trade his (my) Q9 to chris for his orcs and we're all happy, because we all get what we want.

And josh, how many times do i have to tell you? He only has one Swog Rider!

it's really not that much. Chris's DW8K was originally mine, but i didn't thinki'd ever use it so i traded it to him to improve his Soulborg army. Then, other people got him and i realized how good he was and now i wan it back, but chri's won't give it up. JOsh wants charos etc, so he is going to get that set and trade me his 8K for my q9. Then i'll be done. Josh will then trade Q9 to chris for his orcs, and they're done.

Q9 will have had 3 different owners when we are done.

Hey I would have traded you a long time ago but I modded mine, :)

I do think that your solution for the trading makes the most sense!

Yeah I don't much understand it either. I don't think there is much of a reason to do trading for a game that is not collectible.

we don't play with other's units.

I am the only one in our group with RV, therefore i am the only one that may draft any of the RV units. I can't use any units unless i own them. The only exception is when we decide to play with th emethod HappyJ posted on HQ where you draw at andom from a bucket. I don;t have DW8k, so i can;t use him, but i really want to, so i have to trade to get him back, which is what i'm doing, except instead doing a direct 1 person trade, my unit is goign to have to go through 1 extra person before he reaches his final destination.

me (Major Q9)--trade to--PoF (DW8K). PoF now has Q9, which is what chris wants, and chris has teh orc that josh wants so:

PoF (Q9)--trade to--Chris (orcs)

do you understand our reasoning for trading yet?

Nope seems silly to me. I think you should just get a job and go buy an Orm's Pack. Then you can keep your Q9 and DW8K.

K/H_Addict
August 9th, 2006, 12:40 PM
i already have an orms pack. do you not read previous posts?

...Chris's DW8K was originally mine, but i didn't thinki'd ever use it so i traded it to him to improve his Soulborg army...

i have all the units from orm's pack except DW8K because i traded him because i typically don't use soulborgs, but then 8K got used against me and i realized how good he was and now i want it. All a mistake i made when Orm's first came out.

Not your posts. :P And not when its such a silly topic as trading figures in a non-collectible game.

You shouldn't have traded it in the first place. You should have just gone out and bought whatever it was you traded for.

It's not that hard to figure out. He wants 1 figure from a pack of 5. It makes a lot more sense trading for that 1 than it does buying 4 other he does not want.

I talk to KH and POF a lot, and POF tells me that they can never find anything good out there and it comes rarely, so maybe thats the reason they trade so much, I agree with you though.I wouldnt want to say I have every pack when Im missing a guilty from one, or a kelda from another because I traded them.

K/H and PoF, simply stop playing with that strange rule. Mix your figurines together!

And BTW K/H, do not get rid of Q9. Just my :2cents:

I have to agree that Q-9 is a great figure! I played him in a game and he Really slaughtered my friends armies! You should play him a couple more times at least before giving up on him.

what's so good about Q9? I've used him 2 or 3 times, and all he did was wast 180 points of my army. He couldn't even kill a measley knight of weston! he was engaged with all 4 of them and slowly they all nicked away at him, until i got pissed at him and sent in somone better and took out the knights. I tried his special and his normal attack, i even took height advantage once with him. He sucks, and i don't like him. i won't use him, so i'm willing to trade him to someone who will.

And we will not stop playing by that rule. If we did, then all the HS would be mine basically, because i buy the most, and everyone else would just wait until i buy more. Its not fair that i should invest my money into a game for 9+ people. If i bought it, only i can use it.

So did my mom, but that was before i began investing my money in stuff. If it was my money that bought it, it is mine to choose what to do with it. If i let other's use my figs, i'd probably never get to use nilf or jotun or braxas or any other fig i use often. If someone want to test something i have that they don't i'll let them use it in a game, as long as i'm not using it. If i do use it, they have to mind shackle it.

That sounds like a perfect situation to use him in - 3 attack, 3 times per turn against 4 4 D figures shouldn't take more than 2 or 3 turns to dispatch, unless luck's against you (can't fault Q-9 for that :) ) Plus, how'd you let them get so close ;)

they rn me to the edge of the map and cornered me. I tried the special a few time, and it failed every time. i'd roll 1 or blanks. So i get PO'd and go normal attack w/ HA and roll 2 or blanks. I've never had lcuk with soulborgs, except when mindshackling them or being exploded on (they roll a 2 every time  )

That's what I'm talking about - 1 or blank, should be one or two, with the occasional 3 to offset the occasional whiff. And while they were approaching take the surer shot with his normal attack (at range 8, mind you), but maybe other stuff was occuring on the board...

...and, I can no longer hold my tongue - it's your stuff and you can choose to do as you please, but not allowing others to use each others' figures? Not a very tight gaming circle? Or too tight, and you know what will come of the shared figures

From the official site:
Major Q9
Queglix Gun Special Attack
Range 6. Attack 1, 2 or 3. Major Q9 starts each turn with 9 attack dice. Choose any figure within range and attack by rolling 1, 2 or 3 attack dice. Major Q9 may keep making special attacks with 1, 2 or 3 attack dice until he has rolled all 9 attack dice. Major Q9 may target the same or different figures with each attack.
Just to make sure, do you know you can use theses NINE dices in three attacks of three dices? You do not have to attack nine times with one dice. You choose the combination that suits you. It can be (9X1dice), (4X2dices and 1X1dice), (2X3dices and 3X1dice), etc...
With this, you should have been able to kill a few!

K/H_Addict
August 10th, 2006, 07:45 AM
yes i know. i'd roll 3 dice 3 times and get 1 or nothing every time, without fail. i do the normal attack and get 2 or less everytime, without fail. They would always defend it, without fail.

I played like that too, to get the other players to buy their own things. The rules for us though were if you don't have any pieces you can use other people's, but the second you got your own, you had to use them. But, I realized nobody was buying them except for the occasional booster every other year :?

Anyways, go for the orcs, lol

A little tongue in cheek, Google Padawan (just noticed your title, and that is a little bit funny :) ), but wondering what the reason is for not spreading the HS love. And despite the choice of words, no double entendres intended.

To each their own, but I also don't understand why you wouldn't want to pool your HS resources when it comes to unit sharing.

If everyone in your group has to go out and fork out $20+ to buy their very own RV set of uniques, that's a lot of wasted money that could have been better spent on more common sets, more terrain expansions, beer, chips, etc....

Besides, I love to both play with my new RV Heros, as well as play against them in battle! The fun of new units comes from both sides of the table.... are they your ally or your enemy?....

Now I understand that it would suck if the other players never fork out $$ and contribute to the common good, but they could at least agree to pay for beverages and food during gametime?.... Plus, at the very least, you have more people to play with!! Always a good thing.

Aren't you even a bit tempted to let one of your friends draft Nilf, Braxas, Jotun, Q9, etc., and have the joy of facing them as enemies on the battlefield? New challenges = GOOD!!! ;)
