Hey i'm selling my PS2 to get enough money to buy a 360. Can you tell me if it is a good idea to get one? And i'm probably only going to buy one game. Any advice if this is a good idea? Or any good games I should get? I'm leaning towards Halo 3 or Gears of War. (PS. I'm also selling like 22 games and 2 controllers and a whole mess of other stuff.)

Definately. 360's are amazing. Even if you only buy one game. Someday you might get more. And Halo is worth the 360.

It depends if you plan on subscribing to XBox Live. Both Halo 3 and Gears of War are relatively short games, but both are also geared to multiplayer online play. If you don't plan on subscribing to Live, I can't recommend either of those games. I would recommend Bioshock, personally.

Halo 3 is a tried and true formula, a great formula, but I mean its #3. Gears brings some really fun play aspects to the table, plus its a whole new story. If it were between the two with no Xbox live, I would go Gears of War.

Do you have any friends that own their own 360s?
If so, Halo 3 is a great system-link game. Really, all of the Halo games are great for LAN parties like that.
I agree that Gears of War is good, I'd also consider Bioshock or Rock Band (if you have three buddies, maybe they are willing to chip in for that).

Oblivion.
First Person Sword and Shield RPG. It's a Genre all its own. Don't like First Person? Then switch to Third Person with the touch of a button. Amazing graphics to this day. You can get lost in this game doing whatever you want. You can play it like an RPG with leveling up. Hack and Slash. Magic that you can create. One of the best Stealth games out there. If you think FPS games are too easy, try FPS with a Bow and Arrow.
You can follow the main story IF YOU WANT! Or you can just follow any of the other tangent story lines. Mini Quests abound. And then there is the wandering around the continent aimlessly, finding things wherever you go. All of this can be done at any time, or all at once.
Step up to the Game of the Year Edition and you get to go to the Realm of Madness. If you need a laugh or more, just talk to the people there.
Speaking of talking, every single bit of Dialog (from the NPC's) is fully recorded by voice actors. Good voice actors! No bland text, it's completely emotional. And the Emperor is voiced by Patrick Stewart.
There is quite a bit of Downloadable Content available now. Even though they have stopped releasing it, most is definitely worth it.
If you tried to do everything this game offers storywise, it would take about 200 hours to complete. If you only buy one game, this would be it. It was worth the system for me when the game came out, and I still play it just for the fun of it. I have other games, but this one has stood out from all the rest. There are flaws, but so few that I don't even notice them through the great gameplay I've found here.
Others may disagree, this is only my opinion.

Well Primal lives next door to me and he has an Xbox 360. Is silver Xbox LIVE free? I really wanna get Halo 3 cause' I heard online multiplayer was good. Right now I just need somebody to buy my PS2. (About $300 for the system, 22 games, 2 gamesharks, and a few walkthrough guides. I am selling like a bunch of RPG games like DQ8 , Rouge Galaxy, FF12, Kingdom Hearts and all that stuff.)

I can't judge it, for I've never played it, but from what I've seen of it, I don't think it'll appeal to me too much.
And besides, ratings don't matter to me, so I rarely pay attention to them. And then there's the fact that i have yet to own a 360.
PS: It's p-i-n-a-t-a (with accents where needed), not p-i-n-i-a-t-a, but I'll give you credit for trying.

Uncharted had better graphics I think, as did Crysis. But if you are just talking about 360 game graphics then yeah, it is pretty close to the best. Call of Duty 4 had pretty incredible graphics though, as does Bioshock.

Forza 2 came with my 360, and I HATED it until I won a racing wheel in a drawing. Now I kind of enjoy it. It's really hardcore though and seriously unforgiving. Not for the casual fan or those raised on Mario Kart and F-zero!
If you buy it, you almost have to get one of those 100 dollar wheels to fully experience it. Otherwise it's like buying Guitar Hero without the guitar.

Call of Duty 4 is not sci-fi....it's pretty darned close to today's tech. Actually, I don't think anything in there doesn't exist in some capacity in the modern army.

Halo 3 was the reason I bought my 360, and I'm still enjoying the heck out of it. Oblivion is my second favorite game ever. Gears of War has to be the grittiest, coolest shooter I've ever played, even if the controls aren't as tight as they could have been. Crackdown was a total hoot. And there are lots of other good games - Perfect Dark Zero, Bioshock, FEAR - plus there are literally hundreds of demos you can download and try.

Halo 3 is awesome. I'm surprised how quickly the public at large seems to have moved on to embracing COD4 though, with that game popping up to the top of the charts a couple times. Oh well....fickle, fickle gamers.
COD 4, Halo 3, and Team Fortress 2 are my favorite online shooters right now. I like that each of them is a shooter, yet offers a very different gameplay experience. Plus Team Fortress is packaged in "The Orange Box" which is one of the best gaming combo packs I've ever seen....for 60 bucks you get Half-Life 2 and it's two expansion episodes, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. Half-Life 2 is one of the best single-player shooters I've ever played, and yet it is the worst game in the combo! Portal has won a shelf full of awards lately, and rightly so...it's a first person puzzle game with a wicked sense of humor. Team Fortress 2 looks like the Pixar "Incredibles" movie, yet has a solid class-based shooter system under the hood. It's a lot of fun, if a bit short on maps. That should be fixed soon though.
There are a bunch of games beyond shooters though. I like MArvel Ultimate Alliance, even though it's not really going to blow you away with it's next-gen-ness. I also like Mass Effect and the Rock Band and Guitar Hero games. There's a lot of cool titles, but don't get a 360 for young-uns....it's best for 13-15 and up I think.
