i like the one on left. SWEETNESS!

did anyone notice that out of both squads of samurai out to date, the guy with the ponytail in both of them is the only one without armor? POF first pointed this out to me..

Cheesburger, cheeseburger...

Dude! I was going to write that, but couldn't remember if it was from the same SNL skit! LOL.

Was that a Belushi samurai skit? It's been a while...

Wrong skit, but good one nonetheless. Some of my favs were Samurai Delicatessen, Samurai Optometrist and Samurai Night Fever. For the somewhat resemblence alone he gets my vote.

Yeah, I didn't think Cheeseburger Cheeseburger was part of any samurai skit because Belushi's samurai didn't speak English - just some mock gibberish Japanese!

I forgot about Samurai Night Fever!

3, why because he is just cool.

Number 2 because his pose and his clothing remind me of Toshiro Mifune.

I was reading up on Belushi's samurai character. Wiki states this:

Belushi's performance was likely inspired by Akira Kurosawa's films. His slovenly, unshaved appearance, casual manner, and tendency to pull a hand out of his sleeve and scratch his chin-stubble all suggest Toshiro Mifune's mannerisms in the classic film Yojimbo, and the sequel, Sanjuro.

Totally!!! :toast:

By the way, here's a clip of Belushi's samurai in Samurai Delicatessen! He really nails that tomato in mid-air!

Belushi (the one with talent) was great, shame he had to go and leave us with his brother to try and fill in the gap.

Thanks for the link, if only we had the rest now.

I don't really care for any of these sculpts. It's not that they are bad, they just don't do much for me. In the end I went with #1.

Wow... Samurai number 2 is in the lead pretty handily. However, I like Samurai number 1. A very cool sculpt, and a very cool pose.

As you might guess, I love samurai. It makes this a very hard poll to vote in. I pretty much want to vote 1, 2, and 3. I voted #1 though, as he has been my favorite of this group since the moment I saw them. #3's huge lead is actually pretty surprising to me.

Why oh why have we not a had a samurai wearing a helmet? They all look awesome, but a helmet would make them even more so. Ah well.

Also, I like (and share) number one's haircut. 8)

Number 2 for me. He's got enough confidence to where a dress to battle. Plus it looks like he's got his sword levelled at fallen opponent's throat.

I saw the original movie quite a while ago, but must have missed out on the series. My wife loved the series.

Actually I was referring to the MacDirk Highlanders figures! Sorry, I should be more specific! :P

LOL, that was my first impressions, but then for som reason I thought of the movie/series and wondered if "that" highlander fought with a kiltl. Anyways, I will certainly enjoy the MacDirks hopefully in a few days when they arrive from Hasbro.com. I have had a terrrible time finding them in stores as HS stuff is gone moments after appearing on shelves. So I had to order Kilts/Commandos and the Sentinals. The hero pack was out of stock, so I'll have to wait to get Allistar Mac Dirk. My bro in-law has him, but he likes to use him a lot.

Anyways, I look forward to fielding a bunch of men in dresses to pur a whoppin on my bro in-law and nephew. :D

I like ole #1 here I like Samurai in armor and I wish like yagyuninja that they would put some helms on them. I actually like #3 armors best but I had to go with the guy holding two swords.

Yul Brenner!

As far as the SNL samurai skits go, I liked Samurai Tailor the best. The part with the customer complaining there is no fly in the pants, and the skit ends in a freeze frame with the Samurai about to cut the fly while the customer is still in the pants. Classic.

Belushi is my fave. He looks calm and ready for action. The other two are great, but they don't really beat Belushi.
