Hey guys,
I was surfing Gamestops website when this game caught my eye. It seems to be a cool looking game and it has grabbed my interest.

Now, I will be probably heading down to gamestop if I get the chance today and pick the game up. However, I know that sometimes just reading the back of the box doesn't tell you everything about the game. Before buying it I have a few questions I really want answered first.

1. How many people can play on 1 xbox?

2. Are the controls fun and easy to learn?

3. Is online gameplay enjoyable?

4. Is it worth buying overall?

Thanks a million guys
Rich

War Path is really fun. It's made by Digital Extremes who made Unreal Tournament and plays really similar. It even has a lite version of 2004's Onslaught called Frontline Assault.

My box is modded so I don't play online, there's no split screen either. You can play with System Link though.

It doesn't break any new ground and the bots are weak unless you play them on the hardest level (if you're used to playing FPS games anyways).

There's 3 different factions that start with different weapons but you unlock the other faction weapons as you play so there's really no difference other than looks. The weapons have up to 3 upgrades you can spend upgrade points on that make some of the weapons totally different than their base config.

For a cheap budget FPS I've been having a blast with it. The single play game pits you againt a computer player on a hex grid with different battles and difficulties on each grid. Once you finally take over the grid (10+ games depending on your skill) you'll fight really tough boss guys in a deathmatch.

Some nice UT style levels and the capture the flag levels are pretty good.

Could you tell me if there is any vehicles in the game? Or is it entirely infantry based?

There's 3 vehicles in it that handle a lot like UT's. The reviews on the game are mostly average due to it not introducing anything really new.

The weapons do some new things I haven't seen before. One of them is like the plasma rifle in Halo but can be upgraded to just shoot a plasma ball out that sticks to walls and shoots any enemy that gets near it for a bit. A couple of those in a room full of enemies racks up the kills quickly.

I agree...

I mean this very kindly. I really wish you wouldn't come in here and say that. I support everyone of the game systems. In fact, if you add up the systems my family owns together, we own all 3 brands of games (PS2, Gamecube and Xbox). I would never bash one or the other. So I really wish you would extend the same care towards my threads please :)

You have Steel Battalion? Could you tell me about it? I so badly want it. I have been really considering saving up and buying it but have only read reviews so far.

that's one of my biggest downfalls...

I own just about every console right now(can't afford to get a ps3 though gonna have to wait on it) but I do have: Nes(semi werking when it wants, super nes, n64, dreamcast, PS2, xbox, Gamecube and xbox 360)...so far the 360 is my favorite but that's just b/c of oblivion,

cheers

its a mech simulator its a must have if you like gundam, mechwarrior, transformers, big robots in general.i think there is only twelve levels but ive only made to level 5 and then i get killed by some bastard mechs its nice and hard and very replayable. i think the controller is awesome it lights up two joysticks windshield washer, night vision, eject button, every thing a mech needs it also has three feet pedals one is for strafing and brake and gas there is also a multiplayer game for it called line of contact but i do not have it because im not on xbox live but i heard the servers for mission games are no longer being hosted but the death match servers are still up.back to SB its an awesome game the you stay in the cockpit and there is now third person view all the ammo guages, gas, collision detection, and all the radar you need there is also an extra camera display so you can see where your going when you mech is turned to the side. there is also three generations of mechs that you can use if you earn them they also have different displays the only bad thing about this game is that if you die your dead no continues you start over but thats how you become a good pilot if you have the $200 id say get it.oh yeah youll get chessy as hell when you first start up you mech and the cockpit closes i love it .

Does it have a melee weapon or attack? For me that will make it or break it after everything else I have read.

The game sounds amazing and I will probably get one within the next month. I am a huge Mech fan. Transformers, Mechwarrior, battletech and Gundam all the way!

But for me, I love it when the mechs have some kind of melee attack.

Also, how many different mechs are there? And I read somewhere that you fight normal looking tanks. Is that true? What about any type of infantry?

Thanks a million.

xbox sucks.

What you should have said is:

The Xbox is a great hardwares system... for me to poop on!
Or:

Xbox, they should have called it CrapBox.
Or:

Xbox. YBox. ZBox. Box in a box in a box. Microsoft sucks.

Watch out for those xbox people they will eat you alive for saying there sytem sucks.

Anyway I'm gonna go play PS2 that also sucks, but not that much.

I don't remember ripping K/H apart for him saying that one of my gaming systems "sucks".

And I am sure you know that no matter what system you make fun of, someone will always be there to yell at you for it. That is just how it goes.

oh yeah it has like a giant stun baton you can knock over other mechs but it rarely kills them but while there down you can unload on them there is also a little arm that you can use to pick stuff up like supplies, tanks and i hear cows and as for fighting solders. solders will have no effect on these mechs its little arm claw is the same size as a full size tank these mechs are huge but you fight other mech, enemy gun ships, tanks, ive seen screen shots of airplanes but ive haven't made it that far.just make sure you have some where comfortable to play like a table that you can put the controller on and still have access to the feet pedals
