In your opinion, which is the better purchase?

Personally, I like the Lava better.
Sometimes I just have trouble finding a place for all those glaciers, but I have this obsession with using every peice I own for the game when I build a map.

Tundra. Fer sure. Both VW and TT have what I call "push" terrain (i.e. terrain that tends to push a person away from going that way) vs. say "pull" terrain (e.g. roads). But TT has glaciers in addition, which are great for cover. And my one complaint about HS has always been that it's too heavily weighted toward ranged characters, so any terrain expansions with cover are awesome.

Without a doubt, the Tundra. It helps in breaking up LOS and doesn't hurt movement in the way that lava does. It is far more useful, period.

That's true, plus the Dzu Teh get a much better advantage in the Tundra than the Obsidian Guard get in the Lava, in my opinion.

I voted lava.
I don't own either of them but the lava looks more strategical.
It doesn't have anything that blocks line of sight but trees and ruins can do that.

Tundra is my personal favourite and i love the dzu-teh! I hope to build a whole map out of tundra when i get enough money to get multiple sets!

Tundra. Although I like the Lava set, the Tundra is the best buy between those two. The terrain is cool (historically more fights have occurred on snow fields than around lava pits :D ) and the Dzu-Teh (the yeti squad) are a much better bargain than the lava guys. Also the Dzu-Teh are useful in a game even without snow/ice but they shine on a board that contains snow/ice and the glaciers.

Maybe some Admin should change the poll question and add RTTFF since It wouldnt be such a blow out, I love the tundra set, and I think I even like it better than rttff.

Newb posted my thoughts, so I quoted and voted the same :) I do like the lava set, too, though. So both is my real response ;)

Jesus, are you presenting a false choice :) , or really deciding between the two? Like feekonea points out, I think many (myself included) would choose RttFF over both, if forced to take a stand. Bridge is cool enough, but trees are the icing.

I have the Tundra and the Lava....The snow comes out every other game, the lava hasn't been out in a long while.
That should be all you need to know!

I really like both, but for 3 dollars more, I was stunned at the amount of stuff I got when I opened my tundra boxes. The glaciers are made so that they can be repainted, very simply, to look like rocks or obsidian spires:

Tundra, hands down.

I voted for Tundra, but my opinion may be swayed by the fact that I am "used" to the Volcarren set, as I have two of them, but havent got any Taelenk yet...

Tundra is the better buy. You have more options for obstructing LOS. And you can build interesting effects with just a few sets.
Lava annoys me. Do you know how many sets it takes to make a decent volcano? Lava withut a volcano just seems lame. Crap weasel.

They are flameskulls from D&D minis. They are part of a custom I made a while back. You can find it half way down my first post here (http://heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=357)
I also just posted a playtest report of them on the same thread.

Tundra by far the best terrain expansion released so far in my eyes, until the Castle comes out of course.

I love the look of the Tundra, but I voted for the Lava because it affects the game more. Having Jotun throw a pumped up Tagawa Samurai into a snow drift just isn't nearly as cool as throwing him into molten lava.

I only recently found out the the Tundra wasn't in stores, and now it seems to even be sold out online
I think it looks amazing (and the yeti look great too), but for now I suppose I simply shouldn't vote.

I will completely disagree with this. RTTFF has been the most useful terrain expansion so far. I've never built a map without roads or trees yet. Not all of my maps have snow or lava.
If you've ever played on a largescale map then you know how long it can take to get from one side of the map to the other....roads are invaluable.

Lava is more fun, I think, and so I was tempted to vote for that.....but on the other hand I think Tundra adds more to the game, so I finally voted there.
Plus I like Yetis more than Lava-men.

I'm gonna have to agree with noodles that the RTTFF is the best terrain expansion set yet.
The trees are just awesome; how they look, how they block LOS, and how many you get in a set. The roads are also awesome. They are definitely the best terrain pack.
But the tundra is better than lava in my opinion. Lava as you might notice is the only on without objects that block LOS. In the tundra, that one glacier is huge. (But the trees look better). :D

I voted for TT, despite still not owning a set (though I have a large order for them placed). A big factor for me is that VW has almost half the pieces TT does, but it isn't half the price
While both look great on a map, I just think snow will see more use. With there being more pieces in each set, and with it not being so deadly, i can easily see myself creating entire areas with snow and ice, rather then small isolated areas like I do with VW. The glaciars are definetly cool looking, and useful, too.
