Hey, all! Everyone's invited to my place on Saturday, August 12th! My family's going on vacation without me (wah! Stupid job!), so I'm celebrating with a day of Heroscape, starting around noon.

I live in League City, south on I-45. PM me for directions if you want 'em. I'll provide some soft drinks, etc., but bring some snacks, and we'll send out for something more substantive to eat later in the day.

Hey, Finrod, you should use the Event feature for your thread. If you edit your first post you can add the registration so people can sign up.

Kinda like what I did on my house party thread:

I'm a little less jealous of the Texas HS scene now that a few people in Seattle have shown up. :D

Speaking of pics, can someone bring a camera? I'd do it, but my wife took the camera on their road trip.

Jonathan

I'll go put my camera in my box of heroscape stuff now.

I'm not going to make it..... Sorry!! :gencon: Maybe next time. Good to see some other Texas action popping up.

I suppose we ought to discuss what exactly we're going to play.

In prepartion, should I build one cool, huge map with all my stuff?

Or two or three standard scenario maps?

All my stuff = 4 MS, 5 RttFF, 4 VWs, 2 TTs, lots of small expansions

Jonathan

If you use all your stuff to build a huge map, I can build a couple smaller maps with mine so that everyone can play several games AND we can get a chance to play on a really huge, spectacular map.

And just for number-thinking-sake, Sweetcurse is bringing Mrs. Sweetcurse, and I'm bringing Mrs. Jonathan, so that's 6 + your buddies who'll hopefully all be able to simulgame.

As far as how to play, it might be cool to do single-general armies a la Gencon so we won't cry too much this weekend, or do a draft-your-opponent's-army thing. And if you have special scenarios you'd like to try out, I'm game.

Sounds good to me. So we're probably going to have at least eight people. I'm working on a couple more.

Okay, I'll work on the big map during the week, see what I can come up with that'll work for multiple players.

Single-general armies sounds good.

In fact... by Saturday, we should have photos of the cards for Wave 5, right, Gen-Con attendees?? If anyone wants to use some of those with some proxy figures, I wouldn't mind!

Oh, that sounds really cool - right on!

Yes, I said right on and meant it sincerely. I don't think I've ever used that phrase before in my life. Weird...

Well, I figure that for the multiplayer map we can play out of one player's figs, finrod's would be best in this case and do a draft. For the smaller games we could use whatever the scenario calls for and use our own figs. If jonathan is bringing terrain then I will not bring any unless you want me to.

I may have some friends also, I'll let you know as soon as they confirm.

As far as wave five, I can bring heroclix ninjas for proxys as well as some other stuff.

Jonathan, is mccloud coming? if he is let me know so I can get those figs this time, heck if he isn't mayube he can send them with you?

McLeod isn't, but will be there next weekend at my place if you're able to make that event as well.

And thanks for the support!

Update: I've been working on the big map every night this week. Yes, it has both lava and ice on it. :) But hopefully, it makes a little bit of sense...

I've printed up a temp card for Sir Hawthorne. I'll do the same for Wave 5 when those GenCon nuts get around to posting them for us.

This is going to be great!

Everyone be sure to check every Wal-mart in the Houston area by tomorrow at noon!!!

Castles have been sighted, so let's see if we can find at least one!

(And if you find more than you want, buy one for me and I'll pay you when you get here...)

Sweetcurse

Finrod

I'm hitting a couple of Wal-Marts after work today.

Thanks again for hosting, Finrod - the map was awesome, and the ninjas were a close second.

Finrod
August 13th, 2006, 09:23 PM
Yea, it was a blast! I'm leaving the map up until I get my camera back, so I can take pics.

Jonathan had one ninja disappearing all the way across the board, it seemed...

We played general-specific and Utgar wiped the floor with us.

Jonathan
August 17th, 2006, 05:52 AM
Yes, although it looks like it's just us and the Maxo-Texas family. That's still a lot of people, though :D

Finrod
August 17th, 2006, 07:59 AM
Wish I could be there this time, too, but my family's coming back this weekend after being gone for two weeks.

Hey, gang. I posted a battle report of another fight on my big map here:

http://heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=1912

I added glyphs and we only had three players, and it was a MUCH more balanced battle! Down to the last unit!
