thanks for the congrats :) I wish my basement was nice enough to turn into a gameroom. Unfortunately, I have transformed the second living room into the gameroom. but i'm out of space. The computer is getting moved this weekend. I have pins in the living room and kitchen right now cuz i'm out of room. Unfortunately, due to space and finances. One of my babies is going to have to go. Havn't decided which one yet. But the 3 that are even considered are
Theatre of magic
Bride of Pinbot
The Shadow
BUt I don't want to sell any of them. They are in awesome condition and all are great games :(

Dude that is an awesome collection. What you need is my basement and what I need is your pinball games :D Those are friigin beautiful. I have a 2400 square foot basement just waiting for something like that. 1600 square feet is finished off. It is just screaming for a setup like yours. Congrats brother.

Thats quite a big basement you got there Sky. Many things can go down there. Do you play HS there. I would if i had a basement like that.

Coming from the south, most people don't have basements here. I would guess atleat 75% are slab foundations with 15% crawlspace and the rest basements.
I do have a 1300 sq ft media room / playroom / craft room(don't ask me, ask the wife). I want to get a pinball machine for the room and was wondering, If you could only pick 1 machine, which would it be and why?

Dude that is an awesome collection. Congrats brother. It is SO cool. I saw it with my own two eyes. I DIDN'T EVEN PLAY A GAME!!! Back in the day I played a lot of P-ball. Mostly, On the machines pictured. Played the "Shadow" maybe once. Hell, I'd love to be at the p-ball party N is hosting tomorrow.

You lucky son of a *****! LOTR is one of the best machines I've ever had the pleasure of playing. Congrats. And as someone mentioned above, the Sopranos machine is darn fine as well. But truly, LOTR is probably my favorite at the moment.

I had to laugh at reading about Skynight's basement after Dra(gon)'s post about the Sopranos pinball machine.

ok, to answer some questions.
My all time favorite is Cirqus Voltaire. It's just chalked full of ass kickery. The theme is kinda like a creepy circus. But the setup, software and gameplay is top notch.
Lotr's plays great. Everything is fresh and fast. With LOTR you play through all 3 movies. First you must get all the fellowship members assembled. Then you go into fellowship multiball. During multiball you must get as many members across the bridge as possible while attacking the bolrog. After that. YOu must lock 3 balls in helms deep to start the two towers multiball. and for return of the king, you must gather 5000 undead army members and shoot the tower. After complete those tasks, you must destroy the ring. When you start that mode, you have one ball to make tons of shots in certain orders. IF you fail, you start over from scratch. I heard it takes about an hour of consistant gametime to defeat LOTR's. I can't wait.
As far as sapranos pinball. I do not own one, and probably won't unless I get it dirt cheap. it's not that good of a game. In fact, it's really boring. Not much to it, not a deep ruleset. and not many toys. LOTR's is the only Stern game worth a crap. All my other titles are Bally/williams. Which made the best machines. Which is why they are the most sought after by collectors, and they are made much better. Sterns got lucky with LOTR's. it is by far thier best title.
Joah, the party starts at 2. It will be going all night, your welcome to stop by anytime.

I'm honestly thinking about packing up the girls and coming over N. It's graduation weekend up here and my wife has to work all night long. I'll have to play it by ear though. LOTR looks sooo tempting though...

NWO,
I see you have the Addams Family pinball machine. I loved playing that machine. I can still hear those words ringing through my ears, "The Mamuska!"

Dude, you have to love Simpson's Pinball Party. It can be a bit unforgiving at times, but it has a ton of great features.

joah. sucks you didn't show up. We had about 30 people here. some brought their kids. You would have blended in great.
Dragon....I never cheat to see an ending in a game. The ending is what drives me to play a new game. It's like buying a video game. If you cheat and see the ending, what's the point in playing anymore. Kinda holds true for pinball for me as well.
bistro...i don't like simpsons party pinball at all. Way to cluttered. Not enough shots and the mini playfield is to small and useless. If it was a widebody, it would have been better. That game is pretty popular in the pinball circle. I just don't care for it. Attack from mars is super popular too, and I can't stand that pin either.

Cirqus Voltaire. Remember when that used to be part of your sig, and I used to complain about it being too big? Seen your sig now? Ah, good times.
But seriously, you have a nice pinball collection. Much better than mine (space cadet that comes with windows XP. WOOT!)

You know I dig your collection, nwo.
oh yeah - :quarter: ;)
But I hadn't commented yet here.
That woulda been a great get-together - wish I coulda made it.
Thanks for the description of LotR - that sounds amazing, and kinda what I like. But it also sounds like TOO much of a journey to make. When you have to play a pin for upwards of 200 hours to get the shots down well enough to "finish" it, that's getting WAY too much like a console game, IMO.
And have you gotten rid of The Shadow yet? he he - the others seem just better than it.

joah. sucks you didn't show up. We had about 30 people here. some brought their kids. You would have blended in great. Yeah, I was bummed. The rug-rats both had runny noses. I hate it when my friends bring their green-snot-running-out the nose kids over to my house. Has happened to me a couple of times, to bad affect. I'll get a game in soon though. What's your weekend look like?

You ever play medevil madness nwo? that game is amazing, you assault a castle with pinballs

May 16th, 2006, 12:25 AM
yea, I played Medieval madness. It's an ok game. But not as good as people make it out to be. It's overhyped and overpriced. There isn't much to the game. The only toy in there is the castle. Not a whole lot. Yea it has a kick ass medieval theme, and good humor. But there are many games far superior as far as total package goes. When average price for a MM is $4500-$5000, i'd rather have any two in my collection instead. I've seen MM go as high as 8000-9000 range. completely rediculious. TAF, TZ, RFM, CV, LOTR, TOTAN are all better games, and can be bought for $1000-2000, less than MM.
Joah, you know you can come down during the week too. :)

you get a bear kick everytime you go up and around the ramp. If it goes through the right lane, you get 2 bear kicks for the same shot. Besides being bonus points after a ball drain, you get goodies if you get enough.
8 bear kicks lights extra ball
15 lights a mansion award
24 lights another extra ball
35 awards another mansion window
and so on.
Twilight zone has something similar with robots.
