From my response to this date in another thread...
Funagain - Does a much better job offering pretty much everything. (BTW, check out this link (http://www.funagain.com/control/product/~product_id=016184) - Marvel Legends Heroscape pre-order!!!! RELEASING NOVEMBER 06!!! - Thanks for making me look that up!) :D
HMG - Is still the best deal in town, bar none!
On a side note, I'm betting that the Marvel Legends Heroscape will get pushed back from the November release time, but dang that would be sweet if it wasn't!!!!!! 8)It won't come early. Per the licensing agreement Hasbro has with Marvel, they cannot sell product before January 2007.
http://www.marvel.com/company/showarticle.htm?id=1172
Which is interesting as this site says "hitting stores this fall" http://www.hasbro.com/marvel/
But Hasbro says the same thing as Marvel re: 2007
http://www.hasbro.com/media/content/printable.cfm?release=419
I'm guessing that the Spider-man license was already in place as Hasbro offers a number of Spidy products already.

Maybe it is kind of like the original Star Wars action figures. You are buying a piece of paper that says you will get the actual set as soon as it is legal to buy them. Kind of a glorified preorder. Either that or they screwed up.

House Mouse will offer Marvel HeroScape for sale but I will not make it available until I have definite shipping and pricing information. (I'm not going to repeat the castle debaucle!)
Hasbro is holding its annual sales meeting this coming week so we should have better information about upcoming products within a few weeks.
(But Marvel HeroScape in NOVEMBER '06 is NOT goin' happen!)

There's supposedly a shipment of castles arriving at the Port of Los Angeles sometime around Sept 15. What I don't know is how large my allocation will be from that shipment. Hopefully I'll get at least enough to fill my current orders.

Hey Sandra, any word on when Wave Six is going to arrive? I assume you will be taking orders on that soon as it's supposed to release before Christmas, right?

Not sure if this still holds true or not but when I was at GenCon, I spoke with some folks from Heroscape. They said that Flagbearers is another exclusive (don't remember if it was Toys-R-Us or Walmart) due out in the mid-fall (November). At about the same time (in time for Christmas is what they were shooting for they said) the Wave 6 should be released; they were hoping for a late November just after Thanksgiving release to hit the beginning of the X-mas holiday shopping season. They did specifically say January 2007 for Marvel. Aside from licensing and such, corporate-wise it isn't wise to release too many products at the same time or they compete for X-mas $$$ with each other.
Again, in the last month things could have been changed, but that is what they told me. Additionally they mentioned that Hasbro is looking into putting Heroscape into the Wizards distribution chain (whether that means Wizards in general or just the WOTC stores I don't know).

I was at Gencon too. The sign next to the flagbearers said October TRU exclusive, and that's what the booth staff said as well.

I think Craig did say that the two games were compatible but not recommended to play together.

According to Funagain Marvel Scape will not be available till June 2007. So I guess it won't be the first quarter of 2007. Does any one have any better info.

June? Sheesh, I hope not.
EDIT: And welcome to the boards! My frustration is not directed at you, but at the nebulous release of Marvelscape. :x

You know I clicked on this thread and started reading. I hadn't yet realized that I was reading 4 month old posts until I saw the conversation between Sandra and Markwars. It was at that moment that I felt like a complete and total Tard....
*The resurrection of old threads can be hard on folks who don't read dates :D

June? Ack.
Hopefully it won't be that long. A bunch of Wal-Marts out there still have shlef space cleared for it. Just yesterday I was in a Wal-Mart that has actually cleared space for it in the last week. Something screwy is going on.

Essentially.
The factories in China were watching the interview and when Craig said Marvel Legends Heroscape would be out this summer, the foreman said, "you heard him boys", shut down the power and locked up the factory. Too bad they have the Interweb over there or the game would probably be out already.

Yup, that's exactly how it went down, sad to say. Darn you Truth! Your podcast has delayed our game! :-)

The foreman heard someone on a podcast say that the game was coming out this summer and he "shut it down"?

It's not Tony's fault. I don't think we import irony to Canada anymore after the post 9/11 customs crackdowns.

Canadian humor imports tend to be somewhat non-ironic. Ever since the Red Green acts got passed, it's leaned more towards farce.
