With all the heroes and villains around in comics and tv and movies, just a thought but would doing characters from alternate series be a good idea

I'm sure people will get around to that as soon as we finish everyone in the mainstream Marvel and DC universes. :) Seriously though, I've been thinking about that myself. I'm not so sure about the Ultimate univese because their powers and abilities are essentially the same as the regular Marvel version. As far as Heroscape goes, they may have different personality or class, but I just don't see significant differences. 1602 is a nice idea though, and would fit very thematically with classic HS. I've also been thinking about Marvel Zombies, too.
