That's very true. They are aimed at kids. As most toys are. But they're a huge hit with adults also, given I'm one of the many who collect them. They're an awesome and fun little collectible, that runs pretty cheap. $5.88 for 2 figures.
Besides, anyone who plays a game with little figures and dice shouldn't look down their nose at stuff like this. Quite a lot of people would consider Heroscape stupid and a game for kids. Just some food for thought. ;)

XRaine69 used some of these type of Heroes on a map he had built. I took a PIC of this and I posted in the forums as New MarvelScape Shots (DISCLAIMER) (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=9237) Thread.
Heres a PIC from that thread.
http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/2700/cavernmarvelscapebs7.jpg
At the time he had put all his sons Figs on the map. Shown is Cyclops, Angel, Iron Man, Punisher, Thor, Wasp, Cap, DareDevil, Sabertooth, Hulk, Spidey, Venom, Elektra, Ghost Rider, Magneto, Hawkeye, and Wolverine. Now he's only missing a few and his son is really big into Marvel'Scape thanks to these toys.

I do like those little versions of the comic characters. Odd to see Ghost Rider and the deadly assassin, Elektra as a young child's toy, but I fully understand the market eye is fixed right on those older fans (ahem, like 25 years older!)
I think the Wasp figure looks cool.
If I found these (and the awesome Schleich knight figures) at a garage sale for cheap, I'd buy them!

Yes, the idea behind the SW Transformers was good, but the "robot" form sculpts look horrible. Emporer Palpatine's face looks like a green blob, and Obi-Wan just looks too much like a robot for my taste.

Plus they are much safer than an action figure, I rememeber my action figures and you could pull off amrs, legs..ect. Too many small parts for a child to swallow, but these are just one piece of plastic. I say go ahead hasbro bring on more of these. They're like Beanie Babie for boys.

I always thought a mech was nothing more than a tank on legs. The only mechs I know of that transformed into something else were the later release ROBOTECHS (late 80's and on). If I remember right the early ROBOTECH mechs did not transform. Mind you it has been more than 20 years since I've kept up with that kind of thing.

THIS is what it means for Sentinels to attack!!
To explain this: My friend Buddha and I were both very big HeroClix players, and he is a MAJOR Sentinel fan, especially of Nimrod. So he was inspired to begin making a HeroClix scenario based around Sentinels, and Master Mold. The idea being Nimrod is surrounded by early Mark I or III sentinels, the larger ones being more Mark V or VII Sentinels, and the LARGE figure (made using the Marvel Legends Sentinel pieces) is supposed to represent Master Mold. Ironically the Master Mold-sized one is on scale with the Sentinels as they appeared in the old X-Men TV series.

A multi peice Master Mold set would be cool.
Head of Master mold: Sets on the neck of the master mold destructible object, has a ranged attack and lets you use the powers of the different destructible objects so long as the complete master mold is assembled and such. Would also have bonding with sentinels.
Right arm of Master Mold: Ensnare special attack: range 4, attack 1 When attacking with ensnare specail attack if you get at least one skull place the targeted figure in the Palm of the Right arm of Master Mold.
Left Arm of master Mold: See above, left palm instead of right.
Upper Torso of Master Mold: Sentinel Molding: Roll a 20 sided die, 1-10 nothing happens, 10-15 place one previously destroyed Sentinel within 10 clear sight spaces of master molds torso.
Lower Torso of Master Mold: Would give bonus defense dice to the upper torso so long as they were connected on the same map. Would basically be his seated lower torso/chair with four usable hex spaces when the upper torso and arms are not set on them.

They made some pretty cool hulk ones ( when the movie came out) they have iron man's hulkbuster armor, and other cool ones.
The real action figures are cooler though, I call these guys "squashies."

Yeah, the Superhero Squad toys are pretty cool. As a guy who works at a comic shop, I can tell you that they're pretty popular, too. We can never keep them in stock for very long. But the thing that always amuses me is seeing the Squad versions of Marvel's more "PG-13" characters like Punisher. :)

Is there any way to say "ridiculous," "hilarious" and "awesome" all at the same time? 'cause if I could, I would. Ha.
And just to weigh in on the topic at hand, I do like the sculpts and idea behind them, but there's always one thing that gives me pause: points of articulation.
Having grown up on G. I. Joes (I got my first one in Kindergarten), I don't understand how kids can be satisfied by "action figures" whose range of motion prevents real action.
And as already pointed out, Galactus' eyes ... that's what nightmares are made of ;). bg

Seeing himself portrayed this way is why Galactus tried to eat earth so many times.
Speaking of eating the earth:
