Thought I'd start a thread for collecting information on seemingly missing Scaper members. I'm thinking of people who have been big posters in the past, or back on HQ, but seem to have disappeared from the boards.

Two in particular come to mind:

Kenntak

Bannister

Anyone heard from them recently?
Others we haven't heard from?
Is there an easy way to find out if certain members have posted recently?

Sorry if this is a no-brainer question.

Sorry, wish I could help out. I know as you do that I haven't seen them much at all.

However, I haven't been on that much lately either (nobody remembered me :( ) so if they were on recently I wouldn't have known.

Actually, Kenntak posts once every day or so. Many of the heavy posters from .net have reduced their posting habits. Myself included, as I had at the end the 4th highest post count there!

Great to hear that about Kenntak. He was ubiquitous on HQ - had thousands of posts. Is he not a mod on this site?

BC was on last night, I had mentioned this in an earlier thread. We are not gaining as many serious posters as we seem to be losing lately. I mean think about it, Kenntak, Bad Calvin, Minigeek, Happyjosiah, Bannister, We lost Rascalking on the way here. I sometimes wonder if a third site and all the loss of ideas is why people are not hanging around. For me this is round two. If this site goes down, well..... I just do not know if I would want to post all my customs and ideas just to watch another site die. There are many more who seem to be kinda pulling back on their posting as well. I understand we are kinda between big news and Summer break here, but boy, somedays it just seems some of the posts are a bit thin lately. I hope we get some new serious Hs folks here soon. If we do not manage to recruit, well the site will become stagnant slowly, and people will drift.
I asked Truth and the guys to do some business cards to drum up some support at Gencon. I don't think this site is crashing around our ears by any means, but it may be time for some new blood to pick up the torch and run with it. I just saw Malechi and Nwojedi say they were not posting as much here. I don't know I have been around for six months, some of these guys are goin on two years, I am sure alot of things are starting to get rehashed these days. At least we picked up the Rev :P

Yeah, I hope it's a summer lull. Ultimately the future of the site is tied to the vibrancy of the game itself. As the long as the game is fresh and growing the site will live on though some of the characters will change. I've been on since .net, and I've seen different ones come and go. It's a bummer to lose some folks, but then, voila! People like you skynight come along.

Hey skynight, if you are worried about losing ideas, copy them over to HeroscapeWiki (http://www.heroscape.org/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page). Even I should ever stop supporting it for whatever reason, it's a simple matter for me to give the database to someone else and it will live on.

I will agree that part of the lack of posting from people probably has to do with nothing new going on. Castles have been pending since last year, wave 5 doesn't have information up to get us all excited.

Marvelscape may bring some people back to check things out, but they probably won't get into posting much until there are new things to buy and new scenarios to work on.

I know that Elstree (my boyfriend) will be sad to see that we lost Kroc in the transitions, Reverend_Bayes made it over, so he'll have a few people to talk statistics with.

I'd guess posts are down because there has been less HS news lately. How long has it been since Thora and the Castle were announced?

Also we did lose a few dedicated posters in the shift from HQ to here. And from my experiences online I'd say summertime usually sees more of a lull in internet activity as well.
