View Full Version : How will HeroScapers.com handle "BrandScape?"

It seems inevitable that heroscape is moving down the “BrandScape” path with licensing going to at least Marvel - aka MarvelScape. Other brands will probably follow soon.

Good or bad (personally I say good) its going to happen.

What I want to know or discuss is: how is Heroscapers.com going to handle all the different divisions of Heroscape? The website motto is: “your source for ALL things ‘scape!”

So will all versions of ‘scape be jumbled together (kinda like it is now only on a much larger scale) or will there be different forums for each version or maybe just links to entirely different websites? Will heroscapers.com be/become Classic heroscapers.com?

I was just wondering what was on the mind of the everyday posters as well as the intent of the administration. Thank you.

"I will help bring it back to life! Get out of the way!"
Keeper throws a wadded up piece of paper at the thread. The heart beat pulses for a moment.
"Oh no, it must need another question." Quickly Keeper writes down another question and folds it into a paper airplane form and throws it at the baby thread.
SMACK! It runs right into its chest. The sudden impact of unknowingness from Keeper's questions bring the baby back.

Phew, now that I helped there, how about some darn answers...huh?
What are you talking about Ishbul? - Thats question 1. Is Hasbro creating different forms of Heroscape? - Thats question 2. Er...wait, you aren't going to count my first question are you? Oh no, that means that was question 4.

"NOoooooooo!" Keeper falls to his knees.
"You monster! What about my questions?" Ultra Doug looks over at Keeper, his left eyebrow cocked.
"You just couldn't wait for me to get answers could you? How could you do that? Why?" Keeper falls onto his face and crys.

Keeper looks up at Ultra tears running down his face.
"Oh" Keeper takes a moment to take a hard sniff and wipe away his tears.
"Couldn't you have just told me that before killing this thread?"

The question is: "how will heroscape.com handle brandscape?" The answer is, of course, "badly".

Are motto should change to "All things on classic 'scape."

no need for this seperate thread.
much less filled-with-nonsense thread.

I'm sure it will be VERY simple - the Admins will simply add another Forum for MarvleScape, and one more for every other 'Scape game (or else combine them into one Forum, depending on traffic).

Exactly. I don't see how the inclusion of other Heroscape games (if more are released) to the forums becomes a problem. And as reaper stated, adding another forum for the new set is the easiest and most logical option.

I agree, there is nothing to fret over. All the mods have to do is add some small other section at first to see if it even drums up that much support. However, the people that start out with MarvelScape won't have a main website since the url for this one says Heroscapers. Not one of the new guys will think to come here first.

thats not a bad idea, add a secton for Marval scape.
also add a "Stamp of Deny" smiley.

I hate the idea of any other type of 'scape' and I hope it never gets out of the planning stages.
If they start putting wolverine or something into heroscape I may just as well stop playing.
It's retarded.
Cut the crap!

I'll add my voice to the growing chorus of "what he said".

I was thinking the simple "add a forum" would be the answer. The bit about making it a single forum based on traffic option is something I won't pretend to say I thought of.

I guess I'm a purist by nature.
I see that they aren't planning to make the games easily compatible, which is OK by me.
My main beef is with recourses. The marketing and energy (and room on the shelf) will easily fall to the 'ooh look superheroes' idea.
Once room on the shelf leaves, then the game dies.
The SYSTEM will live, but CHS will be long gone.

Sigh.

Yes, this has already been answered, yes, we will discuss and develop it on this site, there will clearly be a lot of discussion about it.

As for the naysaying that this will kill CHS, I disagree, there is no point in me getting into a lot of speculative arguments, I'm really not much of the arguing type. Classic Risk is still on the shelves next to all the branded risks, and when the branded risks loose their attraction, classic Risk is still there.

Take care all, and don't worry, the site admins are bright bunnies that will develop a solution for all things 'scape.
