:!: RECAPE with pictures of the 2006 TTO at the end of this Thread starting on page 30 :D

First off I want to thank you everyone that came to Forest City to participate in this event. I think everyone showed good sportsmanship and most everyone appeared to be having fun and that was the goal. I mean we all are playing HS how can we not have fun ( well I know some of you didn’t have and skull or shields on your dice and I can sympathies with that ). All those the pitched in and help with various duties before, during , and after the event… Thank You very much I did appreciate all the help.

We had 38 warriors on hand, who drove a total of 4,661 miles or an average 122 miles! The furthest was 387 and 5 of us had to drive just 2 miles

This year’s winner was last years champion, this years reigning Gen-Con championship, and winner of every tournament we have had in Forest City, IA or Austin, MN… Joe (Spider Poison) Knapper. Congratulations Joe, you are a humble champion, and a great help in putting this event together. Thank you, I think I can speak for most everyone; your outstanding play is appreciated by all.

That sounds good Jormi_Boced, I've been getting a few PMs on dates ...so far most everyone has all dates are open. I've only had one say the 28th will not work. So unless I get some more emails stating other dates will not work I think we can cross the 28th off the list. I am just trying to accomodate the most players I can. In anycase - It looks like if I build it they will come.

We will have a firm date this week as I want to get the room/upstairs booked. More good news I've been getting e-mails from some new players. So if our core group of players shows up we should be well into the 20's as far numbers go.... that would be great! Our room will comfortably hold over 30 players/15 maps... may need buy more master sets if this gets too big :)

Jormi_Boced

That sounds good. It would be cool to get 30 players:) Well, hopefully we will get a new record number of entrants anyway.

Hopefully we can pin down a date soon, so that we can set up the who will be attending function on this thread.Tuesday afternoon soon enough? After work tomorrow I’ll check this board & PM one more time, and then the plan most likely will be to reserve October 21st at Godfathers. Once I have the 21st confirmed at Godfathers I will come back here, and set up the “ attending function “ on this thread.

Unless I get several negative comments about the 21st or Godfathers has the room booked it will be Saturday October 21, 2006…I promise to have the date confirmed by tomorrow night.

Ok I give up... I've read the registration thread and I've attempted several times insert the Register function... after all this I'm still doing something wrong. How do I put the registration function at the begining of this thread? HELP!

OK I got it now ( 24hrs latter).... You have to go to poll ... then hit options .... you then get 3 sets of boxes, then all you have to do is check the small box infront of the catagory you want to make & hit submit.

I am thinking that the 14th will be the best date for this...

This way, its early in the month...Football is just getting started...it doesnt really affect harvest...you can finally pan out who is going to be there and who cant make it.

From what Ive gathered-
One person said not on the 28th...
Another said not late in the month...
Lets make it the 14th. This way you can meet everybody that has made some sort of demands this far.

Good idea? Bad?

Edit:
Nevermind, I just now caught the Topic Title...D U H !

Sorry guys.

Sorry you had to be a little quicker…. In any case it would of taken more than two people not being able to make the 21st to have changed the date. Again I was just giving everyone a chance to check their schedule so we could have it on a date when the most people could make it. The good news is we have a firm date and a place to play, hopefully I can get some more sponsors, no matter we will have good time – mark it on your calendar!

I wish you guys the best of luck. Getting a group started can be a bit slow, but if you can get it off the ground it's amazing how fun it can be. I thank my lucky stars that the confluence of DFW area folks found each other and that I can participate. My fingers are crossed for you. ;)

Thanks Markwars.... I like the fact our group seems to be expanding. However when you get to playing or doing battle you can have fun playing with a small group too. It is a win win .... however I've always enjoyed meeting new players and so far every touney we've been able to add some new faces.

Good luck to your group also .... and I hope to meet some of the Texas group at Gen-Con

So far, yes. But only if I get a couple of my buddies to go too. A little too far for just one person to afford these gas prices.

Does anybody know what we plan on winning yet? Thought maybe one of the new expansions? Maybe if Thora's Vengeance is out by then, that could be the first prize winnings?? What you think?

deliverymanxas asked "Does anybody know what we plan on winning yet? Thought maybe one of the new expansions? Maybe if Thora's Vengeance is out by then, that could be the first prize winnings?? What you think?"

I've been working on prizes and will continue thru October. What I can tell you in the past we have had several expansions one or two are complete the others get broke up usually into two different squads and all the hex tiles are then all combined to form one prize. We also gotten some gift certificates from online gaming stores last time we had a board that was not even release yet. I’m sure I’m forgetting some other items but we have always done ok getting prizes. I don’t think anyone comes for the prizes it is just kind of a bonus for everyone to leave with something.

Once we have an undefeated champion everyone is ranked on won/loss record followed by point differential so we have a 1st thru how every many competitors there are. Then in order 1st to last we take turns going to the prize table. Typically the winner gets his or her choice of two or three prizes followed by the second place who then get his or her pick of one or two items. Then third on down chooses a prize and who ever gets last usually ends up with the last two items no one has chosen.

If or when I get some prizes other than expansions I will post them ( similar to what has been posted on the Austin Tournaments when some good prizes came on board ) What I can tell you is that Hasbro has declined to submit any prizes to our cause ( not even a few master sets…if you can believe that ), I still am working on HS tournement shirts for everyone and I hope to come thru on those. The first Tournement we held in Austin last March had shirts and I think everyone appreciated them. The old HQ site had several photos of the shirt and all of us wearing them.

My best guess today is that we will have over 20 people at this tourney ( not everyone post on this site) but it is encouraging to see people signup even if it is a maybe. We may have 4 states represented … it would be Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, & Nebraska.

As I get information on the tournement and prizes I will be posting them on this thread.

Nooblar… I was glad to see your "maybe" clarified to a probable in your post. When you get down to the " I'll be there " should actually be reclassified as “probable”, I know none of can guess the future, but I hope your schedule works out and you and Gibberish make it, and of coarse feel free to bring more with you.

Joah … I was glad to see your support and trying to coax some Illinois folks here also. I’ve taken Highway 20 over to Illinois it’s all four lane from the boarder to Waterloo and then the “ Avenue of the Saints (Highway 27) is also all complete and that is all four lane which will get you within 15 miles or so of Forest City.

Again I thank you all for your support and getting the word out…. If you do too good of job I’ll have to go out and get some more master sets :).

I think my couple of buddies are kinda wierded out about age groups. I keep telling him that people from 8 to 48 could be their. I think he/they just need a little talking to. We are all around 20-25, so Im not sure what the big deal is... :?

deliverymanxas to change your registration... just hit the unregester button at the bottom of the who's coming list, and you name will disapear. Then all you have to do is re-register in the other collum.

As far age, most of the players are 18 - 25 there will be a few younger ones and a few older ones. So far I think the ages range has been from 10 - 49 but the core group is in the 18 - 25 range. Again no matter the age I think everyone had a good time playing HS against each other.

Jormi_Boced
July 19th, 2006, 10:06 AM
Yeah, I don't know why the age thing should be a problem. We all have a good time playing everyone, no matter what their age. And at any rate we are, like Codeman said mostly in the 18-25 range.

A dice box ( divided compartment felt lined box to roll dice into ) and also a dice tower. He is handcrafting them our of Walnut and Ash. When he has the prizes completed I will post a photo. Yes I put a little bit of thought into the maps, but not enough to come up with anything yet. I do know we've played the same 2 or 3 maps at every tourney and I would like to have a couple new ones. I'm going to be out away for the next couple of weeks so hopefully after that I can post something on the maps we will be using. Right now I'm trying to find two new maps and maybe an old standby for a third. If the tourney gets as big as I think it may I would like to use at least 3 different maps styles. After Gen-Con we might get some good tournement ideas from there to implement here at the "Tree Town Open" also.

Sorry I haven't made it down to Ames yet... I did want to try out my Gen-Com army against you but time keeps getting away from me.

F***ing Sweeet! If they look half as good as I can imagine...I need to really start getting my armies tweaked, and set up. I would love to walk away with one of those...

Another little idea...
What if we had a couple of bigger tables/maps for a couple of team games? The games would be a bit longer, but I think they would be kind of exciting. This could also be something that the losing players do instead of just watching the winners battle it out for 1st-4th places...

But thats just an idea

Our tournaments are Swiss format, so you will play a game every round. There is no sitting around for people who are not winning. At the end everyone will get a prize, and your ranking, all the way from 1st to 20th or whatever will determine which prize(s) you get.

No problem. We've all been busy this summer.
As far as maps go, I think that we've only used wolfs swamp road and meatgrinder once.
Good luck to you both at Gen-Con!
Oh yeah, those prizes sound super cool! Keep 'em coming! Is Red's dust & splinters a local Forest City business?

No one will be sitting around. Everyone will play every round.. Winners will continue to play each other every round until we are down to one undefeated . Everyone else gets pair the same way by record ( First round is a random draw ) . Not to worry Jormi_Boced does a great job of running tournaments, he has run a few HS tournements and many more card tourneys.

It should flow something like this: 9:30 – 9:45 the group arives at Godfathers and assembles upstairs to sign in, shortly after that pairings would get announced and then the first round could then start at 10am. A couple rounds would get played (After the first round we would put in our order and they would have the food ready at the end of the second round) We then would take a break for lunch and trade battlefield stories. Then we would most likely start the 3rd round after lunch and play another round or two , (three?)after that. Of course the bigger the turnout the more rounds we play. When we get down to one undefeated warrior the score sheets are tallied. First criteria is won/loss record and then tiebreakers are done using total point diferenental accumulated between all your matches. Then everyone goes to the award table in the order of finish and picks out a prize... of course the winner will get to choose from everything and people with a losing record will have less options to pick from, but there will be prizes for all. On top of the prizes rember everyone will be getting a HS tree town tourney t-shirt.

Ive never been to a tournament before, and wasnt sure about the format of play. Plus, a couple of doubles matches sounded kinda cool. But either way, it sounds like it is going to be a fun time. Cant wait to see how others play and pick up some new strategy tips.

Again the best prize is the good time we all have playing HS for a day, but the prizes do make excellent icing on the cake… I hope to have enough “good” diverse prizes that all the top finishers can walk away with something nice. With Gen-Con next week I hope I can pick up two or three more good prizes. The T-Shirts were done once before at the March tournament held in Austin, MN. The shirts seemed to be a big hit with everyone so I think I can do that every October for the Tree Town Open. The best part as far as prizes go even the last place finisher can walk away with a T-shirt and most likely a ˝ an expansion set. There has also always been HexTerrian as a prize but you will have to finish ahead of Super Geek to claim the terrain as he is getting somewhat of a reputation of picking up terrain ( I think he is now 3 for 3 ).

If interest continues in these tournaments I (with Jomi_Boced help) would commit to do a “Tree Town Open” every year during October. This tournement is an” Open “ which of course can be attended by all and everyone is encouraged to attend.

Then every April I am thinking about also hosting a “ Forest Frenzy “ We may not have as many big prizes as the October tourney but it would give us all a date we could get together and do battle. I would foresee the April ”Forest Frenzy” to be tournament that would be an exclusive tourney that is restricted to all previous Tree Town Open participants, and then to all those who haven’t play in the Tree Town Open yet :)

That would be two firm scheduled tournaments in Forest City, Iowa every year … I’m sure Jomi_Boced will continue to do a tourney or two in Austin, Minnesota every year also.

Right now I excited about Gen-Con and then after that the “ Tree Town Open” will be just around the corner.

The shirts are f**king awesome! I love the designs. Good Job!
Cant wait until I can wear one of those.
All the other prizes are coming along nicely. I applaud the support from your local businesses. I dont think that I could get that from around here. Too many stingy owners that dont really care about the semi-youth. Oh, well...that's where you guys are the men right now.

I have a slight problem/request.

First, I am a huge Texas Longhorns fan...I live in Nebraska...I just scored two tickets to the Horns at Nebraska football game on October 21st.

Now you can see my problem and request probably.
Problem, I will not be able to make it to the tourney if it is on Saturday October 21st.
Request, Can this possibly be moved to Sunday the 22nd, since its still almost 3 months away?
I can completely understand if it cannot, now that a few things have been kinda planned. I know its only 2 of us, but if it is at all possible, it would be greatly...greatly appreciated. I really want to go to this tournament, actually planned a vacation day from work for it...but I have never seen UT play live, and I might not get another chance for probably 3 years.

I would rather it be that Sunday the 22nd...but I also want more than myself to agree on that. Mostly Jormi and Codeman, but everybody that intends on attending has a say in this as well. I would feel terrible if the date got changed, then about 2 or 3 people cant attend due to schedule conflicts.

For me, I was planning on that Saturday because I wasnt going to have money to go to this game. Even had transportation planned, maps printed out...the works. Now I had a season ticket holder for NU give my wife 2 tickets (maybe even the whole season). Thats why I am asking about a change now instead of when we started chatting about this.

I do apologize, but hopefully it doesnt cause any anger.

I'm happy with how the prizes are coming along.... The winner is going to have a tough decision on what to pick not too say the 2nd and 3rd place finishers have it much easier! It appears all the top finishers will end up with a better than average prize. Even the unfortunate finishers on the bottom will go home with more than their $5 entry fee worth of stuff. Again the best prize will be a full day of HS and meeting more new Heroscapers.

Hey guys we are having a big tourney on the same day in Texas!!

At some point we need to find an event site that is half way between us. How great would it be to have DFW 1st place finisher take on our 1st place finisher then your 2nd placer would play our 2nd placer, and so on.

Or take your top 8 with our top 8 and do an offical 16 man bracket.

Or do a regular Swiss style tournement and keep team points.

The options are endless but all would be fun. What do you think? Topeka Kansas meet?

I do not find anything offensive about your questions.

The play length of the tourney will ultimately depend on the number of players. The tourney will be swiss style and we will play enough game to have one undefeated player.

I am guessing around 20. We have had 8, 16 and 14 before, but the prizes for this one are going to be the best yet, so I definitely see it jumping up a bit. I think we can hold at least 30.

Our age range so far has run from 8-49, but most players are in their late teens to early 20s I would say.

After the last tourney, some of the people came back to my house to play some non-Heroscape games. We can maybe arrange for some sort of after tourney gaming for this one too. I am not sure how long we can stay at Godfather's though.

Where are you from?

If you have any other questions, let me know. I will answer them as best I can.

With out debating the definition of "Sponsor", I did get Truth's permission to put " Heroscapers.com your sourse for all things scape!" logo on our shirts as a way of promoting HS. Super Geek originally proposed this idea and I thought it made sense to add it to the shirt.

Yep, and I still have not recieved an .eps of it. I will get it on there once I get it and reup the layout.

Um...yeah.
Jormi, 'Scapers/HQ/.net is the reason we've met.
This community has done every bit as much for the game.

If I'm walking down the street in a HS tee, I WANT 'Scapers on it.
If "whoever" gamer doesn't want to talk to me then, they can it least look it up.
If Truth is down w/it, RUN w/it.
I have no intention of sounding flip.

"Scapers" is a huge reason this tourney is happening.

I am not going to get into what qualifies as "sposorship", but there are other sites out their to advertise the TTO, and for me we would be having the tourney with or without Heroscapers.com. We probably would not have as many people attend it, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I am excited to have this huge tourney that the TTO is turning out to be, but it is going to be a lot more work and money for me than if it was just the 8-16 people that I know from outside of Heroscapers. Most of the people that have come to the tourneys I have ran so far are not members of Heroscapers, so although Heroscapers.com is a good resource, it isn't the only way one is going to be able to have a tourney.

Anyway, like I said, I am not opposed to advertise for Heroscapers.com, and now that Truth sent the link to the .eps, I will get it on the shirt. I will probably put it on the back with the sponsors.

Joah, your in luck the HS logo will be on the shirt acording to Jormi_Boced.
However there is only two ways to get a shirt
1. be a sponsor
2. be in Forest City at TTO as a participant

Since you talking about walking down the street in the shirt ... I assume it is A more positive/likely sign that you will make it. ( Bring a car full with you ) Hope to see you in October.

SO in light of two large tournaments happening on the same day, I declare October 21st national heroscape tournament day and encourage all other groups and factions to also have a tourney on the same day....

that would be truly epic !

Spot on. Ry hit the nail. If you can't make it to a HS tourney, make sure you play a game this day. The Battle Report pages should be bustin' at the gill.

Everyone on 'Scapers' plays an "Epic" game on 10/21/06.
hmm, should i car pool with Joah to Forest City or fire up a Chicagoland HS Tourney for 10/21? decisions, decisions...

If you would make to the tourney then that would tentatively make Illinois the 5th state represented at TTO!

Any chance there will be different age brackets? Like a 13 and younger bracket, etc.? I think my son would really enjoy this event, and he's a decent gamer but also only 7, so I'm not sure I'd want to pit him on his own against *ahem* rabid adult players vying for the best prizes. ;)

I don't think we will probably do this, but it is maybe a possibility. I wouldn't worry about rabid adults. Everyone who has come to these so far has been very easy going and is mostly their for the fun, because everyone will be walking away with some sort of prize anyway. We do have some younger people there as well. I think 9 has been the youngest so far. With the swiss style, the younger and less experienced players will be fairly quickly sorted from the older more experienced players, so the groups will be able to play in the same tourney with some mingling. Who knows, maybe we could have some sort of prize for the youngest entrant:)

Jormi_Boced had a good point ... with the Swiss style format people of the same skill/luck level do seek each other though the pairing process as each round goes by. I can also confirm Jormi_Boced statement about everyone being friendly, so far everyone has been corgial, which I think everyone can be and still be completive.

Songbird that is a good idea you had, that the rest of us never thought of. If we did get four or more kids under 12 ( or some similar age ) we probably could arrange a mini-round robin style tourney for them also. Something we can think about promoting at future tourneys.

Shooting from the hip now.....I would think we could throw together a mini tourney if we have some young ones show up at the TTO. If their isn't enough for a seperate group, I still think a seven year old would have fun either way, and I am sure he would be entertaining to play against if not dangerous.

Watch him win the youngsters group and then some rabid ten year old points out your son sould be disqualified because he is not " ages 8 to adult"

It's no big deal; I know at this point it's still hard to predict how many people will come and what ages they will be. And the Swiss rules should be interesting -- I've read about them but never actually played in a Swiss tourney before, but it sounds like it would help even things out over the course of several rounds.

My son definitely understands how to make the units work together, such as Gruts + Krug or his new favorite, MacDirks + Allistair, so I think he'd do OK overall. :)

Now I know this is not a very accurate way to get a head count, ( I still need everyone to PM with their T-Shirt size) , it is a way to get a general head count. If you are bringing some gamers with you to the Tree Town Open and they are not members of Hersoscapers… this would be a good opportunity to have them sign on and they could also vote also!

Hi... first-time poster, here...

A group of 5-7 of us from the Des Moines area are 90% sure we'll be coming up to Forest City for the tournament. We have a few questions that I haven't been able to answer by reading the other posts.

1. Can you change your army each round?
2. Are glyphs being used... and if so, which ones?
3. Will there be 'officials' around in case of rule questions?
4. If we've got a couple of the maps on movable boards, should we bring them?

I think that's it for now. We're really looking forward to October 21.

Jormi=Boced already answered the starting zone question.. I just wanted to clarify some maps or one side may be different than the other but you will have either 20 or 21 starting spaces/hexs. In some cases you may only be able to put out a partial squad. Please keep this inmind when picking your armies.

As long as your injury isn’t serious… I think HS might just be the best medicine.

A rematch might be in your future as Spider Poison as well as all of his brother should be here. Having them all at the TTO will make some challenging games. Beating one of them is great, beating two of them is near imposable, and if you can beat all of them in one day… you shouldn’t be playing HS… you should have bought a lottery ticket instead.

We are still playtesting, but there will probably be 1 on WSR and 2 on MG and FW.

They are drawn from all official Heroscape glyphs.

They are face down at the beginning of the game and are revealed when a figure move onto one. If a squad or unwounded heroe steps on the glyph of Kelda, it is revealed and the unit must end it's movement on the space from which it moved into the glyph of Kelda. It remains face up until an eligible character moves on to it.

The placement is always aproximately equidistant from both sides and in a vulnerable position.

If you have any more quesions, let me know.

I think this should get tacked on to here too, for people subscribed to the thread ans such.

Go to the SUPER BOWL!

Yes you read that correctly “ All Tree Town Open participants get to go to the Super Bowl” however you need to know the rest of the story.

A funny thing happened to me last week when I was going to stop by Godfathers Pizza and check out possible table arrangements in the game room. They were CLOSED! The next day I find out they are closed for good and the building is for sale! Not to worry… our local Bowling Alley ( The Super Bowl ) has stepped up to the challenge, and has offered us a place to hold our tournament. The Super Bowl has a large party area that we can utilize as a gaming area. Since it is a Saturday ( youth bowling ) there is no alcohol served or smoking ( this should not be an issue as Godfathers was no smoking and alcohol free also ). I will post a menu, as we get closer to October 21.

The Super Bowl is located one mile east of Forest City on Highway 9 –or- 14 miles west of I-35 & Hwy 9 interchange.

I will be updating the Tree Town Open Thread – keep looking for details on that thread. Thank you

Sorry for the change of plans, I’m sure plan B will work out well for us also.

PRIZE ALERT !!! Spider_ Poison sent me an e-mail and he said, " I'd like to donate a Ninjas and Samurai pack and an Agents and Gladiators pack to the prize pool"

Thank you - Spider _Poison

With all the "extra prizes" showing up it appears even the mid-placers will be making a couple of picks off the prize table. As for the top ten or finishers they will have some tough choices to make - allot of good stuff to choose from, and it keeps getting better.

Nice work Spider_Poison!
I have never wanted a month of football season to go by any faster than this coming month. I have been talking to deliverymanxas about this whole carpool thing since we possibly have 8 or 9 people coming up from Des Moines. He said that he has a caravan, so if we use that and one other car we should be able to get everyone. So, if anyone coming up from Des Moines is interested let us know and we'll try to figure it out.

With so many new faces coming to the Tree Town Open it may be good to wear name badges ( optional of course ). I don't remember if it was Nooblar or Giberish made this suggestion at a Tournament held in Austin early this year, but it worked out well. Some of us are only going to know each other by our avatar. The name badge makes a lot sense. I know I re-used my name badge when I went to Gen-Con this year. If you have some time consider making one for yourself and wear it to the TTO. Below is what my badge looks like.

We have a nice group from the Twin City metro area ( I think 11 or 12 ) and then another 9 or so from the Des Moines metro area. I am hoping we get a least a car full from Rochester too. State and city rivalries are great and all, but what about regional rivalries? More specifically, who's going to pull more people: Dallas or us? At the rate we're going, we'll have 40+ attend the TTO. Can Texas match us?

 HOLD ON!! Would it be nice to hold the biggest event on the Unofficial Heroscape Day October 21? Yes, probably.... however I would prefer to have a quality event over having the largest event.

Each time we seem to double our attendance and I think we have all done a good job keeping up and to my knowledge most if not all the participants have left after having a good time. We have been taking baby steps and I feel good with 40-42 participants this go around, and I think we will be ready. I will not turn anyone away that may show up but I myself have stopped promoting it. As we got closer to the end of the month I have been using the 42 as the number of maximum participants…again if we have more I wont turn anyone away. I have a couple people bringing a master set with them that we can quick set up another table to accommodate any overflow. I will be ordering T-shirts Monday and the sizes I have are what I am going with ( I might order one or two extra of the common sizes ). The expansions & laser light prizes I’ve been buying I’ve used 40 as the number. The goodie bags I’m using 40 as a number for them. The Super Bowl kitchen is already concerned we may have up to 40 and that burden may keep the Kitchen from getting the orders out in a timely manner with Junior Bowling going on Saturday morning. So for the 2006 Tree Town Open Tourney I had to use my best judgment with the responses I have gotten to date and have planed according to handle 40-42. I will be happy with any number between 30 – 40 and I am confident the tourney will run smoothly.

I will concede - DFW group can have the biggest tourney or anyone else can have that honor. What I want to have and will not concede is to try to have the best tourney possible right here in Tree Town. I want everyone to have so much fun that they will want to come back in April for the “Forest Frenzy” and bring a friend. When you get down to it everyone will be having fun on October 21 as we all will being playing HS somewhere no matter where you are.

Spider_Poision don’t get me wrong I appreciate your support and you are doing more than your part to help me pull this off. I prefer to go for Quality and Quanity will follow.

This is Iowa – remember If you build it they will come.

Heck I hope we all have huge and awesome tournaments. Competing for the title of "biggest" is just an incentive to try and get folks to come, but in the end, if you have 8 people and everyone has a great day..... That's all that matters. You Tree Towners are lucky to have the spirit and desire to do great things withn your tourney and I for one wish I could attend both yours AND ours!!!!

Nooblar,
Yes, the numbers keep growing and I heard rumors there may even be a few more. Well at this point I am sure we are having over 32 so that means we will be having 6 rounds. Everyone should have a good time getting that many games in. I don't think I've ever played 6 games in one day... it's a great game but that might be my limit for continuous games. As long as we keep it under 64 entrants we are good ( other than haveing Master Sets to accomodate all the tables )

If these Tourneys keep getting bigger , it may have to go to a two day event. I might have to contact Winnebago and see if we can use their campground and one of their buildings to hold it at. It would be nice to be able to step out of the motorhome and take a few steps over to Friendship Hall to play HS! For those who don't like to camp there is The Lodge and a Super 8 that are both adjacent to the campground property. ( but I think camping would be the way to go - Combine camping and HS - might be the next big discovery  )

For now things are falling in place well for October 21, and I'm looking forward to the 2006 Tree Town Open Tournament. See you then and don't have your hopes up of killing off too many of my Orcs.... I hope we meet up in one of the rounds... it should be fun.

2. I am not 100% sure, but I know they have a bar attached for the drinking and smoking. I don't think they have any smoking during the youth league though. I would actually kind of hope not. If any smokers come, they should have enough time to go take a smoke in between games. If the nic fit really hits you, you could always concede your game for the break:P

Delliverymanxas .... I'm not sure about the drinking. When I first posting about the Super Bowl taking over for Godfathera Pizza I posted this ..

" … our local Bowling Alley ( The Super Bowl ) has stepped up to the challenge, and has offered us a place to hold our tournament. The Super Bowl has a large party area that we can utilize as a gaming area. Since it is a Saturday ( youth bowling ) there is no alcohol served or smoking ( this should not be an issue as Godfathers was no smoking and alcohol free also ). "

As Jormi_Boced pointed out there is a bar at the Super Bowl, but drinking may be confined to that area due to it being Saturday ( as I posted above ). The Super Bowl made a point of letting me no smoking or alcohol so I don't know if the rules change latter in the day or not.

I am sure it is, but not near as beautiful as the dealer hall at Gen Con bursting forth with all sorts of new game goodness:)

 Did I just hear "faraway and exotic...like Nebraska"???
I never thought I would hear those three words used in the same sentence! Faraway...yeah, kinda. Exotic...only if you love (and I mean LOVE) corn...

I see plenty of corn as it is. The house is surrounded by corn every other year. It's great watching Signs in the fall, at night. :D

I've already suggested before... but maybe it's time to load up the motorhome with Heroscapers. We could have a couple games going while we go down the road, that would be great 8) . I just wish there was RV parking next to or close to the RCA dome. I think I may be back at Gen-Con next year :D It would be fun to take a motorhome or two filled with Heroscapers - we could all Caravan to Gen-Con - pick up more RVs along the way.
