That's a pre-order (not in stock), but that IS an awesome price.

I think I'll order that. I can't imagine I'll find it for cheaper.

Does anyone have an idea of how much SotM will be once it hits Wally Mart?

Thats the way a pre-order is supose to be... lower price to tempt you to order it while its not even in stock yet.

I won't order until they get it in stock. If that means the price goes up then I won't order it.

When this hits WM and Target it will likely sell for $34.99 or $39.99.

If Sandra's selling it for $39.99 it will likely come in at the same price at Target and WM, or as I said above, slightly cheaper at $34.99.

SotM is considered a master set REFRESH, not a new product. I would be surprised if there were any changes in pricing between what you've previously paid for a master set and the price of the new SotM set.

True. That's why the prices I speculated are the same as what Master Sets sell for at big box retail now.

I have ordered from CCGArmory before, and they were very helpful and prompt. I am sure HouseMouseGames is too, though.

And you know the old joke:

Customer at Restaurant 1: $3.00 for a hamburger! The store across the street sells them for 25 cents each!
Cashier: So why don't you buy it from them?
Customer: They are all out.
Cashier: Well, when we don't have any, we sell them for 10 cents each!

So it does not do much good until they are in stock. Sorry about the corniness. Jokes you hear from your parents are usually that way.

Its been a few years since my last order with them. They were slow to ship, but their pricing was good.

Your mileage may vary...

I have a pre-order for SotM in with them now. I will come back and report how they do.

What a deal! Even with shipping, it comes to my door for less than Walmart's price. I'm gonna have to hit this up...

Yes, we got some Battlestar CCG cards from them, and I even chatted with Brian in email.

His shipments come very padded (we got a collector's tin) so I would recommend them!

Thanks for the heads up - 2 master sets and 1 each of the three wave 7 in stock.

If only they offered free shipping...if there was no shipping, it'd be no contest--that's the lowest price anywhere.

Shipping for me on one set was $8.14, putting the price over $40; I can pick one up through Amazon Prime for $39.99 (no tax) with free 2-day shipping (non-prime users can still get free shipping on anything over $25). However, if you order 2 or more from CCG, it begins to become more of a value.

CCG / Amazon

1 set = 40.64 / 39.99

2 sets = 73.95 / 79.98

3 sets = 107.18 / 119.97

So if you're only getting 1 set, Amazon is clearly the way to go. Two sets is a toss-up (for me, anyway--I'd get 2 from Amazon due to my free 2-day shipping deal), but 3 or more CCG begins to top out.

Now the question is, how many master sets do I want to buy? :D

I ordered from CCG Armory once and had horrible service. They were rude to my mom, who was trying to purchase a gift for me. On top of everything else, they were wrong in what they told her and had to eat crow. I'll never buy from them again.

Buyer beware.

We (group in Indianapolis) ordered from House Mouse. The combined order gets us over the $150 level for free shipping.

Her prices are about the same as Walmart or Target (when you order the bundle/specials and take into account sales tax, gas driving to find the things) and you get it before it shows up in stores.

Also, she is a sponsor of this site -- so it is also a bit of you help us, we help you.

To those who haven't already preordered from here. I did so a month or so ago and just received an email saying they are removing the item from the website and canceling all preorders due to lack of availability. They say that the item will likely not be in stock for several more months.

Just giving the info I received...but wanted to point out that I'd consider this to be at least decent service in that they let me know what was going on. True, it sucks they won't have the product but, as his post mentions the rudness etc., I wouldn't say so. In fact, this gives me the opportunity to preorder elsewhere before it's availlable to still have a chance of having the item early. I'd say that was considerate as well. They could have dragged it out.

I just got the same message.

I'm sorry to inform you that we will not have the Swarm of the Marro Heroscape expansion upon release due to distribution issues. We will have the game later, but it will likely be several months following release. We are therefore removing the item from the site and will unfortunately not be able to honor any pre-orders.

We do have the other items on your order available for immediate shipment and would like to continue with that portion of your order if you are still interested. Please let us know.

We are commited to carrying Heroscape in the future and hope to be able to fill your orders for current and future releases.

I don't like it, but I don't consider it bad service. Like nbxfan said, they could have dragged it out. I would order from them again. (I did cancel my whole order this time, and the other items they mentioned being able to ship right away were Templar Knights x2, so those may reappear briefly.)

My guess is they did an oops-y and made the price too low ;) and are just retracting it...

Oh my god are your serious? Well thats it for me im not ordering from them again, the only reason I did was because of the price, and the fact my mom didnt like the fact that it was $50 at house mouse with shipping even though I told her id rather support HMG. But my mom just told me she didnt get the email yet, so im guessing its in her junk inbox. Plus my moms not gonna order me one from HMG until she knows for sure about the whole CCG thing. So that leaves me with one question, do you think if I wait until Sandra gets her SOTM's and order, will I still get my set about the same time as a preorder any, its just that ill be at the back of the list but I meen that should only add a day or 2 to the shipping time right?

If it was a preorder, you shouldn't have gotten charged at all.

Wow, what a load of junk. I'll gladly pay Amazon $12 more on 3 master sets to get it on time and correct the first time. Thanks for speaking up people, you probably saved a lot of us a lot of grief.

And consider this when choosing between the 2: When was the last time Funagain sponsored a 'Scapers event?

I got my $130 refund... Note that I used PayPal not a credit card ;).
They did not automatically do mine because of the other stuff in the order... I had to request they do so.. which was kind of lame.

Today, CCG Armory fully refunded me. When I asked why Swarm of the Marro had fallen through, I got this reply just a couple hours later:

We were informed that we would likely be receiving the product approximately 4-8 weeks after the release to the mass market (Target/Walmart) and could not get a confirmation of specific dates nor the specific timeline following mass market release. This would result in us inevitably disappointing customers with a significant delay in shipment from when they would see the product in stores. We don’t like to take pre-orders for something when we can not confirm an approximate ship date – so we thought it best for us to discontinue accepting pre-orders and allow the customers who did pre-order it with us obtain the game from a source that will have it upon release.

We consider pre-orders to be a serious commitment on our part, which is why we do not offer them on all products – we want to be 100% confident that we will have the product upon release. We never want to cancel pre-orders, but the alternative would be to mislead our customers regarding our ability to deliver on the orders in the timeframe they will expect.

We will make it available for sale once the product is received in our warehouse.

I understand that you and many other customers found us through a link on Heroscapers bulletin board. If possible, please post this to the board and let others know our situation in full. Anyone who placed a pre-order with a credit card would not have ever been charged for their purchase. If they used paypal, they should have received a refund – if not, they can email us and we will take care of it.

We very much regret this situation and hope everyone agrees that it is better to let you know now, rather than after release.

Incidentally, we would much rather see these sales go to another small retailer then Walmart. If House Mouse Games has confirmation they are receiving the product upon release, I would encourage you and other people on the board will support them and purchase from them.

Jeremy

For clarification, I think they handled this one right. I'm glad they are encouraging folks to support Sandra and HMG. OTOH, I'll never buy anything from them again.

The rudeness noted was during e-mails and telephone calls between my mother and them as she was trying to buy AT-43 for me at my request. I only used them b/c Rodriquez had ordered a case of Horrorclix through them that we split.

I hope they enjoyed the money they got from me, they won't be getting any more.
