Marvel Draft - Conclusion, Credits, & Aquilla

The first Unofficial Marvel Valkyrie Draft (http://heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?p=300973#326788) is complete. Here are the standings.

Conclusion

Would anybody like to draw up custom cards based on the Draft? You'll get credit and a working link to your creativity.

What do we get from all this?
Jandar Captain America, Spider-Man - Isamu gets "Dishonorable Attack", Sargent Drake 2 does not get "Pistol Fire Special Attack".
Utgar Abomination, Red Skull - benifit from Ornak's "Red Flag of Fury Aura", Templar Cavalry get "Righteous Smite"
Ullar Hulk, Venom - benifit from Acolarh's "Ullar's Amulet"
Vydar Dr. Doom, Silver Surfer - benifit from Laglor's "Vydar's Range Enhancement Aura"
Einar Thanos, Iron Man - boost Hatamoto Taro’s "Adjacent Tough 1"
Aquilla None at this time.

Aquilla
A lot of people have asked how we are going to handle a new general who shows up halfway through the Draft. ugly1hornedmule gave me the idea to do an expansion draft. What we are going to do is wait until wave one comes out. By that time we will have more than one card available in our armies. The reason? One monk does not make an army. All the rest are speculation at this time.

So, before we do the draft for wave one, each general submits one Marvel unit into the expation draft. Then Aquilla will draft 2 of those units. All unique points commercially available will be added up (Unique thru wave 8 or 9 & Marvel from first draft), then all 6 generals will draft wave 1. The two generals with the most points after the first round (most likely Einar and Utgar) will lose the chance at a second pick. This is the fairest idea I can come up with.

OK. Why am I giving this guy props? Because he's even more obsessive/compulsive than ZBeeblebrox. This guy never sleeps. He's always here to give the first comment of each poll (most of the time). If it weren't for his dedicated posts, I probably would have given up on this halfway through. Thanks.

This is the credits page, so here is my credit. I'm the sick, dedicated, depressed soul who thought this up and tried to keep up. I'm not perfect. I just hoped you all enjoyed this little game. I had fun coming up with ideas and jokes to keep this intresting. I wanted to try this out and see where it went. If you all had a good time (even with my lateness), then I'll be here when wave one comes out.

As for Aquilla - I had this idea. We have a normal draft like before, and do all 6 generals. Then, the two with the most points spent all together (this draft and last), don't get to make another choice. We continue as normal with the rest of the people. But that's just my :2cents:

Also, Cap and Spidey get Jandar's Dispatch, are weak to Isamu, and arn't affected by the new Drake's Pistol Special Attack. Abomination and Red Skull are weak to the Templar Knights.

Cleaned up the post. Johnny139, Sir Gilbert's "Jandar's Dispatch" and Templar Cavalry's "Dismiss the Rabble" are Squad based. Updated.

I know, but the Righteous Smite was what I meant... I wasn't sure about Sir Gilbert. I don't have him, so... but the immunity to Drake's New Pistol needs to be added.

As for the synergies... well, the weakness to Isamu could hurt Cap a bit, but the resistance to Drake is pretty good, as Range and Special Attack is his weakness. Spidey, it doesn't matter much either way, as he can swing around no matter what.

Hulk doesn't get much use from being an Ullar, seeing as how he'll usually be leaping, but Venom will actually get quite a bit of use from 8 move off the bat. Very useful.

As for Vydar, Lagor will be VERY useful. Doom can get 8 range with him - with 5 attack, that's quite potent. Silver Surfer gets a boost to 6, but that's not as useful, since he's more movement-oriented.

Iron Man helps Hatamoto little, with his, once again, movement oriented attack style. I guess Thanos helps... but why would you keep him there? Samurai Bodyguards, I guess... eh.

Ornak does almost nothing for Red Skull - his main use works only with Order Markers on him. But I guess Abomination could use a free turn in conjunction with someone else.

I'm all for doing it again, but personally I liked the reverse draft idea. Where you announced the unit and we picke the general. Just my 2 cents. Its fun any way. Thanks for doing this!

I'm all for doing it again, but personally I liked the reverse draft idea.That sounds cool to me too. Just roll a d20 to see who gets auctioned off next I guess?
