Congratulations MrGood. Leifkicker will be contacting you shortly to arrange for the prize. All others, if you are interested in purchasing a card, contact Leifkicker.
Great job everyone. Stay tuned, another contest will be announced tomorrow. I'll give you a hint.
Look around the house for those items that you would normally throw away. Now, look at them while thinking about men with pointy ears.

Since the prize is so great, wouldnt it be better to make this one not so speedy and announce it now but set the deadline for after Gen-Con? Just wondering what others think.

I'll bite, let me know what and where :D
EDIT: Taking the post above me into account, that doesn't sound like a half bad idea, maybe give just a general idea what we are looking for, but no specifics, that way people can look for the resources they'd like to use.
Like if we were to make a Subway Entrance, you could say Subway Entrance, but not go into the size or anything like that.

Answer to some of the questions, both posted and pm'd
Hey I just want to make sure I am doing this right. I will need to assemble and paint the whole thing and submit the pictures to you. If I have a destructible object I just need to send picture of object and the rules for it, i do not have to make the card correct?
lastly I have a few custom marro that I have made is it cool to have them in the picture as well? After all the rules say any marro, I just want to be crystal clear as this will be the first contest I will be able to enter.
Thanks so much for your patience.
Ted
You do not have to make the card, leifkicker makes the card, sends me the jpg, and I post it with your custom.
The rule did say any Marro, so, yes, you can use a custom Marro.
With that great prize, this would have been a great time to use only household items, no putty, flock, etc.
Bring out the real masters of creativity.
I thought about that, but, not everyone has access to every household item, nor do I want to make it that people have to buy an item just to use for a custom. Most, if not all of us, have toilet paper in our house. Most, if not all, have hex terrain that can be used.
Does it have to be as big as 1 24-hex terrain, and 1 7-hex terrain, 2 3-hex terrain or can it just be 1 7-hex terrain?
You must use all of the hexes stated. you can stack them on top of each other, or spread them out, but all must be used in order to qualify for the contest.
I might have to buy another master set to offset all the tiles I'm using on customs
You do not need to sacrifice your terrain, as stated in this rule:
The slave pen can either incorporate the required hexes or fit onto the hexes, your choice (for those that do not have enough hexes to use for a custom terrain.
Please, keep the questions coming. I envision many of you will probably wind up using your custom terrain for a new scenario involving a rescue. Good luck all.

Here are my 3 questions....
1-Do they have to be the official hexes or can you use hex alternatives? (wood, plaster, foam, rice krispie treats)
2-Can you only use 1 toilet paper tube?
3-Can the tube be cut?

Here are my 3 questions....
1-Do they have to be the official hexes or can you use hex alternatives? (wood, plaster, foam, rice krispie treats)
The custom has to be able to fit on the official hexes. Whether you incorporate the hexes into your custom, or use an alternative as the base and fit that on the hexes, is completely up to you.
2-Can you only use 1 toilet paper tube?
You can use more than one. I did not specify, I only said 'empty toilet paper roll'
3-Can the tube be cut?
Yes

I like the Demon Gate a lot more, but it is neat none the less.
How much of the original toilet paper roll must be used, and does it have to be recognizable, or should we just point out where it went?
Taelord
August 17th, 2007, 12:05 PM
I'm confused. One of the rules states that we have to use the amount of terrain tol. But another thing says we can use different amounts if we want.
Lotus
August 17th, 2007, 12:07 PM
How about you have to use at least that much terrain.
Taelord
August 17th, 2007, 12:13 PM
That would be a huge prison. I was planning on making it out of a 7 hex.
Lotus
August 17th, 2007, 12:15 PM
Mine is going to be about 7 hexes inside, perhaps a little less. You don't have to fill all the space, just use it somehow.
cycoduck
August 17th, 2007, 05:40 PM
I'm confused. One of the rules states that we have to use the amount of terrain tol. But another thing says we can use different amounts if we want.
To answer your question:
1. Must use the hex terrain specified, no more, no less. This means, if 1 7-hex, 1 2-hex and 1 1-hex terrain is specified, that is what must be used for the custom terrain.
and
The slave pen can either incorporate the required hexes or fit onto the hexes, your choice (for those that do not have enough hexes to use for a custom terrain. ]/quote]
I stated the second, because some people did not want to sacrifice hex terrain for custom terrain, while others do. As long as the custom can fit onto the required hexes, and you provide a picture that has the required hexes in it, you are fine.
[quote="Lotus"]I like the Demon Gate a lot more, but it is neat none the less.
How much of the original toilet paper roll must be used, and does it have to be recognizable, or should we just point out where it went?
If we (the judges) can ascertain that an empty toilet paper roll was used in the custom, then it is fine if you want to cut up the roll.

Need to be patient. Leifkicker is ill, so he's taking a while to make the cards.
We have only a total of 6 entries, so I need to talk with leifkicker to see if that is acceptable for the prize.
Other news, we have another scaper that is donating a prize for the next contest. Also, you may want to begin collecting those odds and ends around the house, this next contest will have an interesting list of items needed for the custom. One hint, the them will be for Ullar (one of our more ignored generals)

And yes, the picture is better. What did you do different? I used a large amount of carfully shaped and layred dryed paint on the top to look like sludge, and finished painting it. :D
No no no, :D I'm talking about the photo. What did you do different from one photo to the next? Better lighting? I just used the enhanse tool but i did that with the last one.

Awesome job all around! All the entrants look great, and it's the wonderful people behind these that really help pull the community together. I didn't get in on this one as I only have 1 MS, and didn't feel like sacrificing any terrain ( I know you don't HAVE to) but if the next one is a little smaller scale, I definately think I'll be participating!

I have to say number 1 takes it. The suspended prisoners are simply awesome. Wish I'd entered but simply had too much going on....

NO the voting isn't over until there is a winner announced and please stop "bumping" threads the way you do.......constantly or far too often. If you want to revive or move a thread up, post something useful in it and not just an emoticon.
Where is that straight jacket?

A little under 2.5 hours left to vote, it's getting close between #1 and #3 for the winner, 2 vote difference.
