View Full Version : Would you purchase Galactus?

Like the title says, if Hasbro made a Galactus figure for Heroscape, would you purchase it?

Let us assume that it would cost $40 since there would surely be enough plastic in it to equal 4 expansion sets. And that like the Galactus for Heroclixes, a player could play against Galactus without another player.

As for me, my Heroclix Galactus convention exclussive is about the only reason I keep the heroclixes I do have. So yes, I would purchase Galactus, and I would probably dump the rest of my heroclixes.

Yes. And then, after playing a match with him, I could die happily.

Oh God Yes. But he would be my secret shame, for no one else in my home would understand... no, they wouldn't understand.

No, I wouldn't. It's cool, but it means nothing to me and would only collect dust. I will say that I plan to purchase a Fin Fang Foom though, :D

...and yes, it will collect dust, but the good kind of dust.

Hasbro could take a crap in a box and I'd still buy it. I'm a walking paycheck for hasbro when it comes heroscape.

Sure. I'd be pretty certain he'd be worth it somehow. That's what I tell myself whenever I buy new scape stuff :D

I'd hope they release some terrain before they even consider the giant figures.

No no no, faerie dust, that way it will glow in the dark as well.

I think that that, is the gayest way the word fairy can be spelled.

Agreed. That is the ONLY thing I don't like about the Marvel game straight out of the box: not enough terrain to build interesting maps. However, one has to safely assume that more Marvel specific terrain is in the works.

So, that most likely being that case... ... I would probably buy Galactus. However, I'd want him to be just a bit smaller than the Clix version. Because, seriously, that figure is ridiculously massive!

Though I doubt they'll release that large of a figure without first releasing a few sets of smaller wave expansions, more terrain... and some Sentinels. :D

I have a Heroclix Galactus, but I'd have to have an official 'scape one.

Yes. Would I buy any figure from Hasbro? Yes. Am I on the paying Craig's kids way to college plan? No, I'm past that. It's Craig retirement fund now.

I wonder if his driveway is made of asphalt tiles! That would be his "favorite terrain."

It would depend on the price for me. I know I wouldn't play The Big G often enough to spend more than, say, $30 for him. Your mileage may vary, though.

$40 does seem a bit steep. I'm sure I'd wait for it to go on sale. But I'd buy it. :D

Like the title says, if Hasbro made a Galactus figure for Heroscape, would you purchase it?

Maybe. If it was part of a standard expansion set sold in stores and not a Toys R Us or convention exclusive, definitely. If it's an overpriced exclusive, probably not unless something compelling was packed with him.

I'd like to see them do some larger-sized figures that might be more usable in day-to-day gaming first, though (Galactus is more a plot device than a combatant when he shows up in comics). I'd really prefer to see a Fin Fang Foom and a Giant Man figure before worrying about a Galactus figure myself.

I can answer the question of purchasing the Big G in 4 words...

In a hot minute!!!

I'd even buy a 'clix figure if I could get one under $200 that they seem to be running for on eBay.

I do own the Marvel Legends Build-a-Figure version which is an awesome sculpt and clocks in at about 16" tall.

Little big for 'Scape, but very tempting... 8)

If you look around on eBay and other places, there is an older figure from 1996-1997 that is about 14" tall. I got it for $11 on iOffer, but I've seen it on eBay, too. It's called something like Fantastic Four Electronic Lights & Sounds Galactus. It also comes with the big device he holds that he uses to eat planets with. Here are some pics on a Heroscape map:

This is the Marvel Legends BaF Galactus. I put him next to the castle so you get a concept of scale. Basing him would be a challenge, hey?

It would be cool to have one person playing Galactus and 2- 3 others all working to bring him down. That would be a cool scenario.

Actually, that is kind of how the Heroclix Galactus works, except no one has to play the part of Galactus. Basicly Galactus attack when ever some one hurts him. And by default, Galactus will always use the power which will do the most damage for that attack. This way, a group of people; or a single player; can take on Galactus with no one missing out.

This poll is looking promising. I seem the recall a similar poll before Hasbro announced the release of Heroscape Marvel. If I remember correctly, the results of that poll were the same as this one with 75% yes, and 25% no.

Perhaps if Hasbro sees that enough of us would be interested, we will see a Galactus.

I am not a huge comic fan, most of my Marvel experience has been the cartoon series, and the newer movies. Also, I am just starting to read a bit of the comics, started with Spiderman India and am starting the Civil War series.

Oh man, if you are starting out reading today's 'soap operas' they call comics, you are missing the best. You need to read some of the stuff from the 70's to 90's. Back when comics were written to be entertaining and fun, and not stupid multi-issue, shock value, soaps.

Well I am quite enjoying the Civil War comics, Spiderman India was also great, just about how he got his powers then defeated Dr. Octopus and the Green Goblin, but it hints towardds Venom in the future. But instead of heavy Science they are all about mystic forces and such.
