Hey guys, and friend and I were thinking that instead of posting your have's/wants on this thread and HOPING some one sees it, my friend and I would be willing to set up a website in which (for free) scapers can have their own personal page with their haves/wants...also there would be a generic buy/sell feature where scapers can post a figure and a price and there would just be a whole page where you can look up a figure and find all the prices that are being offered by each scaper....if you think this would be worth while and you would use please PM me (I don't want to spam this thread with this while people might be looking for a trade).

Thaelenk Tundra for sale:
I have a full Thaelenk Tundra set complete with Dzu-Teh figures (with sleeved cards), all glaciers/ice tiles/snow tiles, and instruction book. No nicks/scuffs, adult-owned, well stored, and from a smoke-free home. I have had many great trades/sales from this site, BoardGameGeek (hateoven), and ebay (nicholaspickles).

Shoot me an offer. What I REALLY want is a copy of Conflict of Heroes board game (either Awaking the Bear or Storms of Steel), used is fine. I'd do a direct trade for that in good condition (if you even wanted to buy me one I'd do that which might work out best because it can be had for under $50 w/free shipping online. I see this Tundra finishing at auction for over $70 routinely but if I wanted ebay prices I'd put it on there- I'm mainly trying to get Conflict of Heroes.). If you want to buy it just shoot me a reasonable offer ($30 for this complete set in good condition is not a reasonable offer IMO).

I have collected Scape since the beginning but, sadly, it must all find a new home.

I have at least 3 of every common set from Wave 1 until D&D Wave 2 and 1 of every Unique set. 3 or 4 Masters, 2 Swamp, 3 Lava, 3 TUndra, 3 or 4 Road, 5 Castles, 1 Marvel.

All exclusives, all flagbearers.

I'm really hoping someone in the midwest (I'm in Iowa) will just take a road trip to come out for the whole collection. I'd even throw in all the nice storage bins I keep them in - there are 12 plastic shelving units of 3 shelves each - 3 large for terrain, 3 medium and 5 small.

I also hav extra sets of my fave figures - Monks, Gruts, Zombies, etc. - that are all included. I also have a nice big tacklebox that holds all the dice, order markers, rulebooks, etc.

Someome please give this collection a good home. I am happy to take a large $$$ loss because I have enjoyed this stuff for years.

I don't know about WalMart, but The post office now offers covienent flat rate shipping (If it fits, it ships), but th smallest box is $4.95 shipping! I'd recommend just trying to find a smaller box (or buy something that comes in one).

Do you have any boxes? You can carve one up to make it smaller. Just make sure you tape it well.

The post office has them. I've used CD or DVD mailing boxes (they cost around $2) for sending out scape and just add something for padding - kleenex, napkins, newspaper, whatever.

If you're sending a larger number of things the flat rate boxes are a good deal as there's lots of room, a good weight limit, and they're around $5 for anywhere in the US.

Other than that you can get crafty and make boxes the size you want out of leftover cardboard you have laying around. You'll need more tape than the above methods obviously, but it's not a bad way to get the exact size you need if you've got a large enough piece of scrap or two to work with.

Walmart sells a box that is 6"x6"x6" that is around .59. I always just use those. Yes, there's some extra space inside that I just stuff with a plastic bag. Ship for around $3 or so. It gives enough room to make sure that the card stays perfect.

Just ask anyone who I've traded with, they'll confirm the boxes are a gem!

Does anyone have advice on a convenient (and inexpensive) way to mail a squad of figures and the card? I don't have tiny boxes around. Does the post office or WalMart have boxes that are perfect and not wastefully large?


Walmart sells a box that is 6"x6"x6" that is around .59. I always just use those. Yes, there's some extra space inside that I just stuff with a plastic bag. Ship for around $3 or so. It gives enough room to make sure that the card stays perfect.

Just ask anyone who I've traded with, they'll confirm the boxes are a gem!

I can vouch for Greyelephant's boxes...I've reused them numerous times now.

I asked if he wanted them kept in the packaging or opened to lower shipping cost. He indicated that open and cheaper shipping was his preference. I got his zip, opened the items and packed them to weigh and determine shipping (I was just charging him exact shipping). Then he informed me that he found some at his FLGS for a lower price and apologized. I told him that I had already opened the packaging and felt that he had left me somewhat in the lurch. He never replied.

Perhaps this isn't enough to be upset about, but I feel somewhat that a deal is a deal. What does everyone else think? Am I overreacting?

From another perspective though, stuff happens, you have to get over it and move on. I'm sure you'll be able to find some one else to trade with who won't mind it being open, and frankly I think keeping your scape closed up is a waste to those of us who can't find any. I've been looking for Zombies for 2 years now and I'm sure there's tons that some people have just sitting on their shelves. (I can't do nothing about it though so I just keep looking). Be happy for the guy that he found some sets for cheaper, and get back on your Scaper grind and try to trade the sets or sell them to Auggies, or even better play with them :D. Was it cool thing to do? No. Well complaining about it over the internet help? No. (I would have done the same in his situation.) I'll back this up 100%. If you commit to a deal you should follow it through, especially if the seller has potentially devalued his product at your request. In this scenario the buyer could have sent the seller $5 (buyer still saves $10, seller gets something for his trouble).

Generally, in Internet trading circles as soon as you send your address, it is an indication that you've committed. If you're a seller and want to be extra careful, wait until you receive payment before doing anything.

IMO, if you agreed to a deal that involved the seller doing something to lower the value of something, you are responsible for the difference in value. You kinda did force him to open him, that was part of the deal you agreed to.

whether or not this is reason not refer to you as a good trader is up to the person. I personally wouldn't get involved in any deals that involved sealed boxes.

Whoa! Hold up!

As an international trader (who's done mostly buying to this point) I've asked several traders around here to open packaging - and others have offered. It hasn't worked out badly so far! and the cost of not doing it makes the trades cost prohibitive!

Perhaps estimate shipping during the negotiations, agree to a price, with the understanding that both parties will need to be flexible and fair on actual shipping, await payment from the buyer, open the packaging and pack the item, check the shipping cost: if it's within a dollar or two of the real shipping, leave the deal as is and send it.
If actual postage is a few dollars more than estimated postage, hit up the buyer for that amount (the buyer will be able to see what the shipping was on his rec'd package so your rep is likely to suffer if you rip the buyer off). If it's a LOT more then negotiations need to start from scratch.
If actual postage is less than estimated postage, then refund the difference to the buyer.

I still think Chrischappel24 could 'buy back' his reputation (at least in my eyes) by giving wdgrant a PayPal gift of $5. That still means ChrisChappel24 saved $10 on his original deal. Just my opinion, feel free to disagree.

It was wrong of me to drop out of the deal and to write such harsh feedback, but it just makes me made when someones bashing my trading reputation when I've honestly made 5-6 great trades on here, some buying some selling. You don't have to accept this if you don't want to and I don't have money to pay you for opening packaging as jobs are hard to get for teens in Oregon and I'm still in school.

If it was your soul intention on making it impossible for me to trade on the site anymore than you've most likely accomplished that.

The difference is that wdgrant didnt slam the kid for doing it..he was giving a heads up to everyone else. Maybe wd's problem is he is too efficient a trader and wanted to make sure the package was out the door as soon as chris paid. So lesson learned by him also.

In response to a request for a more clear statement on our policies with regards to maintaining order here at Heroscapers, I present this. It’s been through a couple revisions already, and will go through more.

General Conduct
With the launch of our new site, we added a bunch of cool stuff. We also implemented fun technology that allows us to ban or moderate commenting from certain people. We Use these tools in conjunction with the registration system to allow us to preserve what we consider to be order by sealing out anybody we feel is causing a disruption in our community.

However, this is not a public street corner. While we are rabid free speech supporters, your natural right to self expression does not require us to publish your opinion and spend bandwith and resources doing so.
We will ban for any reason and for no reason. In order to ban people who are lame, we will inevitably end up banning people who have done nothing wrong. There’s no appeal process. Bans may be permanent, and they may be adjusted to better target specific people, or repealed entirely, even within the same day.

Seriously: Most of the time no reason will be given. No explanations will be given on who’s banned, why, or when. Most of the time it will be obvious but there will be times when it might not seem so obvious to somebody not in the know.

The “no reason” section done, here’s my guess at the kind of things that will get people banned.

Abusive behavior towards others. When you post in reply to people, pretend that you are arguing with an umpire.

As we have an excellent relationship with Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast we consider unsubstantiated news and information regarding Heroscape (or any other Hasbro product) to be in very poor form and will likely lead to banning. Please refrain from posting such items unless you are able to reference an official publicity release or publicly available information and photos from trade shows and conventions.
Sightings of product availability in stores and on website for pre-order are, of course, fine. A list of units to be released in a future expansion before the information is made available publicly is not.

What else… posting illegal offensive or pornographic links or pictures, spamming links in threads, whether it’s your site or whatever (pointing to other sites is fine, and even pointing to related articles on your own site’s been tolerated sometimes, but “come eat at Joe’s” isn’t). No signature links to Warez, porn, hate sites, or other questionable content. Absolutely no affiliate links in signature. Disparaging remarks about this site and those that run it. Being mean to new members for such things as asking questions that seem redundant or making a couple of spelling/grammar errors. Speculation about another person’s motives for taking a particular position, particularly in a negative and derogatory sense. In a disagreement constantly attampting to get the last word in is a no no, and will only fan the flames.. Not acceptible. Posing as another member or using multiple accounts, this includes the chat room. Selling or profiting off of materials that are available on our website is a violation of copyright and not only gets you banned but may lead to further action.

Again, though, that’s a non-inclusive list and is intended for you to get a general sense of what kind of comments get sent to the great message board in the sky. There will be posts that seem to violate these guidelines that are up, and posts that are deleted that seem innocuous. If you can’t live with that, then this is not a place you’re going to be happy posting at.

With all that said, this not free: We do not intend to ban anyone from commenting because they disagree with anyone else, everyone else, or specifically the viewpoints of any (or all) of the authors. You’re not required to even like me, or anyone here, though you should because there are many great people here. All you’re required to do is be civil.

Please, please, don’t just post it in the first thread you come across. This is rude and annoying. It may get deleted and/or make someone mad.
If you’re considering starting a comment with “I know this is off-topic, but–” please, just reconsider the importance of what you’re about to post.

There is a section on our site where off-topic random thoughts and all other items not related to Heroscape may be discussed. Use your best judgment when starting a thread there. Having an off topic section does not mean our site is to be used for you to post every trivial thing that comes to mind. Practice restraint and use the off topic section sparingly or you will dilute the value of our site as a place for Heroscape information. There is a certain amount of recklessness when posting about controversial subjects. If we get the sense that one of these threads was started as a way to infuriate and amuse we will delete the thread immediately or at the first sign of trouble.

Editing or deleting posts
Posts may be deleted but the poster not banned, and a poster might get banned while the comment that provoked it remains up.

Comments will not be altered by editors unless there’s no other way to fix something, and I don’t see how that would be possible.

In some cases, we may edit a post that contains one particularly egregious violation within a larger post that is good enough that we don’t to delete it entirely. This is a judgment call, and we’re going to be inconsistent about it.

Titles of topics may be changed to better reflect the contents. Especially if the original title is "some help here" or similar unclear titles.

On identification
Fake names are fine. Offensive names and assuming the names of public figures is not, and will get your posts and account deleted. If you’re famous and want to use your real name, email us, and we can work something out.

In particular, pretending you’re a current Hasbro game designer or employee will get you banned. As will posing as another member or using multiple accounts, this includes the chat room.

Having said all of that stuff about random acts of deletion/banning, I would bet that in almost all circumstances we can easily get things done by PM’ing a note that says: “please watch tone” or something, you’re much more likely to get off the hook if you take it well.

Who polices us?
The Administrators and Moderators of this website in hopes of maintaining a fair warning and banning system will be held accountable by the other Administrators and Moderators. This is balanced by the fact that they have been part of the HeroScape community for a good length of time and are from diverse backgrounds whether it be geographic, scholastic, economic, religious, political, etc. This should allow for a balanced reaction to any dispute.

So, I scored a copy of Battle Ball at a friend's garage sale. The box was taped shut, so I asked my friend if the game was complete. He asked his kids if the game was complete. The kids responded, "no, the pieces are strewn all over the house." So my friend gave it to me for free.

As it turns out, I got pretty lucky. It is only missing a few things:
Instructions (I printed them out from Hasbro or somewhere, so not a big deal)
2 Yellow six-sided dice
1 Zinc football marker
1 Lineman (black base) for the blue team
2 Linebackers?? (blue base) for the red team
1 Running back (red base) for the red team

I'll compare to BGG photos of the plastic tray later to see exactly which of the Lineman and Runningback figures I'm missing and update this post.

I've personally been able to complete 3 games by using this format. The people on there are very helpful at times. Very nice community. Just make sure you pay attention to the last time they've logged in. Otherwise you might be PM'n someone who hasn't been logged in for months, or years even.

We don't have enough information for the peanut gallery to actually weigh in on this reasonably yet some have taken up the cause without regard to the facts and events. (What does his former profile image have to do with this discussion?)

With disregard for the transaction.....I like Chris and have found him to be a stand up guy and more than willing to be help out several times, and yet I support WD's right to post his own opinion as well. Rather than debating the issue of who was right/wrong...perhaps we should lobby that the site have a tool for tracking history/reputation of traders.

Chris should not leave the site nor should he create a new account rather than deal with this problem, I will tell him directly in private as well, because this should have never gotten this far.

To anyone shipping products...I would strongly suggest NOT opening anything advertised as NIB, eventually you will find someone unhappy about the condition of the items they receive. (This is experience talking.)

Something you might want to try is looking at Bookmans. I got my copy there, and I have since seen another copy there. Mine was missing one of the d20's (and I just happened to have a red d20), but it was otherwise complete. At the very worst you would have a bunch of extra figures to use for customs.

I've done hundreds of online trades and never felt the need to have such a system. This thread is set up on an honor system. I've only had a couple of times where I was "potentially" going to get screwed, but resolved them on my own.

This recent incident wasn't even that big a deal if you ask me. Nobody was truly out anything, other than some figures taken out of a booster. I just don't want to see a knee jerk reaction to something so minor.

Would I have honored the deal, if someone took them out of the booster for me? - Yes.

Would I have taken them out of the booster before I received the money? - No.

I'm really hoping someone in the midwest (I'm in Iowa) will just take a road trip to come out for the whole collection. I'd even throw in all the nice storage bins I keep them in - there are 12 plastic shelving units of 3 shelves each - 3 large for terrain, 3 medium and 5 small.

I also hav extra sets of my fave figures - Monks, Gruts, Zombies, etc. - that are all included. I also have a nice big tacklebox that holds all the dice, order markers, rulebooks, etc.

The trade thread is what it is. It's a valuable community resource but it has its risks. Overall I've done well trading in this community but I've had my share of headaches, too.

No need to change anything. It is what it is; barter systems all have risks and I don't think any of the suggested remedies have benefits outweighing the various costs.

Don't ship something you couldn't bear to give away if you don't have what you're expecting in hand first. If you're dealing with a veteran *adult* member of the community then you will perhaps feel more free to stuff your items in a box and ship.

My best transactions have all been with guys with long track records on the site: Jim, Necroblade, Rychean, to name a few. My headaches have been with people who aren't around much, and from what I've read there's also a pattern of people having problems with kids. No offense to the teenagers & younger who *are* great traders, but that's what I've observed from reading posts on this forum for some time now.

If you're dealing with a kid, or someone who isn't around much, then I'd suggest considering waiting til you have your items in hand. No need for a toothless ombudsman, or a meaningless "rating."

In the short run, I believe they will go up as Scapers scramble to complete collections. As time goes on, the lack of new releases will likely push some people to move on to other games and sell their collections. If enough do that, then the prices will come down.

Just posting to say that I've opened a PayPal dispute with Mutt Lo over a $50 terrain deal in which the postage was so high (around $67) that I sent an extra $35 through to get the deal done.

I'd traded with Mutt Lo successfully before and Mutt Lo seemed legit so I'm hoping we can still resolve this.

It's been over two weeks since last contact, which was when more money was sent... there still could be a legitimate reason, like hospitalisation, etc. so I'm not immediately blackballing Mutt Lo as a trader.

I kept buying sets even when I wasn't playing. It pains me to think about selling my entire set. Scapers please keep the community alive, the game is worth it. I sold my other one of these overseas not that long ago for $200 and it will be a very rare collector piece now.

I have a Skahen left over from The Southern Hemisphere Heroscape Championships that Rÿchean gave me permission to sell as a fundraiser.
I'm willing to do it in a blind auction.

PM me your offers (in USD) by midnight 20/11/10 (my time). You can only bid once, with the exception below, so make that bid your best offer. Remember that there is $5 postage (worldwide) so if you PM me a bid but don't include the postage I'll assume your bid is $5 less (a PM that just says '$50' = a $45 bid + $5 postage). You can bid any amount you like.

I encourage you to bid odd amounts (eg $50.11) so there is little chance of a tie.

Whatever is raised will go towards prizes for the next Southern Hemisphere tourney, so I'm after the best possible price, not as a profit, but to increase the prize pool - so there is a reserve.

For those who don't know, I'm the price doesn't go over a reserve, the seller can decide not to sell.

The top five will get PMs back advising where they rank (1st = highest offer, 2nd = next highest, etc), whether the reserve has been exceeded by their bid, and asking whether they wish to exercise their right to raise their bid. They will have a short time to respond (probably 24 hours), and can only bid the once more.

In the unlikely event there is a tie after this, the parties involved will be given one final chance to raise their bids. I don't see this happening.

Remember, this is not for profit, it's to try and get a variety of prizes on the table and the next tourney.
All the highest bidders money goes towards promoting scape!

Wave 4

The Sacred Band: The bonding power of this squad is awesome indeed. They give extra attack powers to Einar's Warlords, and get extra defense powers when fighting with other disciplined warriors.

Armoc VIPERS: These slithery savages bond with Ullar's Warlords to give them extra attack powers. And of course, they have the viper advantage of moving quickly through water.

THE GLADIATRONS: Hand-to-hand combat with these Gladiatrons can get ugly. When adjacent, their Cyberclaws can immobilize the enemy. And their Melee Defense power gives them extra protection in every battle.

The Arubien Archers: These fast-firing Aubrien Archers can move in quickly and do serious damage. Their long-range Frenzy attacks can surprise the enemy with a hard-hitting double strike.

Wave 6

Einar Imperium: The highly disciplined Imperium squad adds the power of double attacks to your army. And as Kyrie, their flying abilities come in handy for quick escapes over uneven terrain.

Tagawa Samurai Archers: These hot-blooded masters of surprise use their Counterstrike power when attacked, turning all extra shields into unblockable hits on their attackers!

SHADES OF BLEAKWOODE: These ghoulish warriors take control of nearby Heroes with their insidious Soul Devour power. Their Stealth Flying power enables them to travel quickly over uneven terrain.

HEAVY GRUTS: Their razor-sharp axes cut a vicious swath across any battlefield. Heavy Gruts inspire Orc Champions to extra turns, and easily fend off leaving engagement attacks.

Well, I hate to have to do this, but I feel like his timing on burning out is a little coincidental that I gave him a $150 2-3 months ago, and he has given me every excuse under the sun, and supposedly has resent the package 3 times, and I have received nothing.
As it stands right now..

If he comes through his end of the deal, I would be more than willing to retract my statement if he comes through in the end.

I have recently contacted him a few days ago and he has ignored all of my messages.

Greetings fellow Heroscapers, I've just made this new account with this site and plan on becoming a supporter. I recently purchased Master Set 2 with the intention of adding to my collection of minis to D&D, and unexpectedly fell in love with the game. Over the course of a month I've picked up Master Set 3, a dozen+ booster packs, and am crazily looking for more. I couldn't help but notice a nice pack for tiles from Master Set 1 on Ebay that I wont be able to afford before time is up on it, so I submit it here to you all to discuss purchase over. (Looks like a lot of good tiles from MS1 and RTFF.) Hopefully I will be able to get my hands on a MS1 in the near future, but until then I give you all this because the name it was being sold for is obscure, cheap, and not likely to be noticed. (And definately not Hero Quest - which I use the dice from my own copy for Heroscape. Har.)

Doubt it, it doesn't list those in the item description (what little is listed).

Smart Arses. I haven't bought a DnD pack ever, and would literally have a heart attack if I thought about this stuff any less. I am a D&D Denier. That being said, I did buy some single heroes that are "useful" for REAL Heroscape, from Auggie's.
