I've never traded with anyone with respect to points. Generally, it's the approximate monetary value of what's being traded (taking scarcity into account), modified by how badly each person wants/needs what's being traded. In the instance you mentioned, I think you're fine making that trade provided both are happy.

I just got a package from some Ebay douche named Anthony Appleton in Kansas City. The 'tard packaged a Blastatrons set in a friggin Cheez-It's box with absolutely no packing material. The pack inside looked like an elephant sat on it and one of the Blastas had his base torn off along with part of a leg.

Man, that sucks; I'm sorry to hear you got hosed. If you haven't left feedback yet, you should (calmly) demand a full or partial refund. I've done that when morons have shipped me self-destruct-in-transit items, and it works bout half the time. I'm always amazed at the cluelessness of some people when it comes to packing. I've even received figures from folks on this forum packed in similarly crappy little boxes (microwave popcorn, oatmean, etc.) that fell half apart on the way here. Think, people!

Well, considering ROTV and Sotm are standard $50, and all the terrain packs (RTTFF,TT,TJ,VW) are normally $30, FOTA is normally $45 and the large expansions (RV,AA,OR) are also $30 us canadians get typically roasted on prices. So a few good deals are a long time coming.

Afterall, we have to trudge through 6ft of snow just to get to the nearest store... :woot:

This figure was gotten by me, my wife, and my son at Gen Con 2007. I have been to every Gen Con in the last 20 years and always get lots of swag. Anyways, we have one here to play with, we had one in the plastic still in a swag bag, and one that was opened and on the shelf. This is the one from the shelf. It matches the one we play with, and the one that was in plastic as well.
It has Yellow sleeves, I can see a slight tinge of yellow around the neck but you are correct it does not have yellow down the front. Something I did not even know it was supposed to have.

So, why is this? Anyone? I am not a scammer and only take Pay Pal which we all know protects buyers from not as described items.

Paint has never touched this since the day it was made by whoever Wizards gets to make their figures.

I thought I would just come here since this thread was brought to my attention.

All of the Promo figures from GenCon are repaints of previously existing HeroScape figures, so it should look like one of the Shaolin Monks. :D

I think everyone is jumping the gun on calling that Woo a fake. It looks fine to me, just missing some yellow paint. I've seen plenty of official Heroscape figures that were missing a swatch here or there: an Anubian with all-brown teeth, a Valguard with a paintless pouch, and others I can't remember now. And let us not forget the gold standard for manufacturing variations: the Ripped Pants of Awesomeness.

Somebody commented about the pegs being wrong, but I'm not seeing it. Unless you can see Shaolin Yellow on the pegs and I'm just missing it, I don't see any evidence of fakery.

Selfishly, I would like it if everyone thought it was a fake so I could get it for a low bid, but that doesn't seem very fair to the seller.

Why doesn't someone ask him via ebay to take a snapshot of the bottom of the base? I'd bet my bottom dollar that he's a fake, to be honest, because not only is the paint missing from the robe, the colour is all wrong and the paint on his wrists is a bit too wide. The paint colour on his robe is pretty close, and thus I could buy that it's not a repaint as that is one HECK of a hard color to match.

Let me examine further - I've repainted about a dozen Woo's and am pretty good now at seeing the differences.

Possible solution for figuring authenticity of the figure. You said you had three total figures: one in the bag, one for playing, and the one for sale. Just post a picture of all three together. This would verify your background story and allow comparison with other Woo figures.

I can't offer an opinion on authenticity by pictures, because I have no idea what the real figure looks like. I can offer an opinion of authenticity of the auction listing, from my experience of using ebay. If you check the other items for sale, these don't appear to be the items that a scammer would have. Scammers tend to have large quantities of listings with high demand items: video game systems, electronics, ipods, etc. Scammers sell a bunch of fake listings quickly with buy it nows, before the reports of fraud start coming in to ebay. I personally would not doubt the authenticity of the figure if it was me buying the item. I doubt a scammer would spend this much time posting pictures and replying to post for a $40-$50 item.

Now that I will not be able to do until the day before Gen Con. My son currently has the playing cases with him at his moms in Northern Indiana. I only have our shelved collection (Which was for display) I get my son on Wed the 12th and he will be at Gen Con with me and my wife again. Happy to bring the playing one along then as well.
The one in plastic was sold three or four months ago on eBay with good feedback.
There was one that said the pegs were off. I posted photos of them and you can see they are not.
Most of this community seems straight forward and I Can understand someone not wanting to get ripped off.
I have to admit, I am at a loss as to why the gold is not on the front. I see it on the sleeves, and I see around the inner neck line a gold color, but it did not finish around the neck or down the front.

Hey, opinions are opinions. I'd say that the card is the main thing that would prove it and it looks fine.

The colour on the sleeves can be off due to the camera, but the only explanation of the missing stripe is a manufacturing defect, which is possible, or a repaint. These pics have me more convinced that it's the real deal...I looked at mine and it's spot on aside from the stripe.

As you all already know, Just_a_Bill is more than Just_a_Trader. He offered an excellent trade and everything arrived safe and sound with impeccable packaging.

Beyond that, I also wanted to draw everyone's attention to the trader list in my sig. They are all individuals with whom I've hade excellent trades. When the odd problem has popped up (a very rare occurrence), it was always worked out to both parties' satisfaction. I just wanted to give credit where credit is due as it can be difficult trusting people at times. You certainly have nothing to worry about with anyone I've traded with.

One last note about Canada-US shipping (both ways), it seems that delivery times are pushed out a bit (either due to customs inspections or generally slow transportation). They seem to be averaging 15 business days at the moment so hang tight, it may take a bit, but your armies will arrive!

Are you serious? You would rather have to read through 100 different threads just to see what each person is wanting/offering? And you would want your own recent posts to get buried in the forum because other users' threads have higher activity? Ick and ick.

Just browse the last handful of pages for current offerings, and use thread-specific search* when you're looking for something in particular. What's so hard about that?

How about you go to Profile and change your signature to a link to your trade thread like...I don't know...me? It's really pretty simple, and it saves you from reading 1000 different threads to find what you want...better yet - use the SEARCH feature to look only in this single thread to find EXACTLY what you want, sorted by date..?

I guess what some of us are trying to say is, your trade post seems confusing. Maybe I'm just an imbecile, but I couldn't easily tell which of the things on your list were haves and which were wants, and which of the haves were actually up for trade.

Most of us don't list what we own, we just list what we want and what we have to trade. Other variations on this (here's what I have but I'm not telling you what I want; here's what I want but I'm not telling you what I have; here's what I own, make suggestions on what I might want) are much harder to deal with and I (at least) generally ignore them.

By listing what you already own but are not trading, you seem to be forcing your potential trade partners to mentally subtract your holdings from the entire 5-year list of available Heroscape components, then guess/hope/assume that even though you haven't said you want it, because you also haven't said you own it then perhaps you might trade for it.

You might get more interest — or perhaps a higher percentage of queries that actually lead to a trade — if you said "here's what I have, here's what I want, and here's what I might want" rather than make everyone else do the math. (Because most of us won't bother with the math; we'll just move on to somebody else who has what we want in a way that's more understandable.)

I'm not trying to be overly critical here, but if nobody ever gives you this feedback then you may never know the extent to which you are missing out on potential trades because some of us find your post confusing and/or too much work. So I, brilliantly and magnanimously, herewith and forsooth offer more unsolicited advice than you've probably had all year. ;-)

I'm right there with you Bill...it's really overkill and confusing. Rather, just do what I do - keep one post going and put it in your sigline. Trading seems to be pretty important to you, so perhaps it's better than 11 1-full-page posts full of irrelevant info.

Just post what you have, what you want....it's a plan that's worked for years without problems.
