OK, not really custom per-se, but these Mega Blocks sets are terrific for use with Marvel!! Ninthdoc turned me on to these and I really think they add a lot to the game. Below is a few pics of a city street corner vignette I set up using my Bank from Mega Blocks:

House rules can be fun!! :)Yes and I forgot to mention why I liked it the most. The conctre as sidewalk (higher than asphault) made it look were good. When I get a Marvel set I'll have to set something up like this. Previously I thought the terrain was ugly to say the least.

Yep I am almost certain all of my maps will have this style of raised light grey areas to resemble sidewalks. It just seems to please my eye a bit more than what Ive seen so far

I've got a card for Pine Trees here, but I think all you'd really have to do is change "Pine Tree" to "Street Lamp" in the title and text to make it work for a Street Lamp.

Hey, give us a custom terrain section and we'll put stuff there. :P I'd put more Superhero custom stuff in the regular custom section, but you know what with them being incompatible and all ...
Also, with me, you should've bolded "Marvel" more than "Heroes" since that's my biggest area of violation. :D

I know I have seen this posted before as well, but there is always WorldWorks Games.
www.worldworksgames.com
Hmmm, I wonder, If I whip up some blank building templates would other people graphic them up, then we could all have nice free paper buildings to supplement our games? I could make a matching hex grid as well I am sure. The hex could be overlayed on top of the graphics, allowing us to have the rooftops be gridded.
IAmBatman
August 3rd, 2007, 11:54 AM
That's an EXCELLENT idea for a project, Lotus! :D Then we could all get some buildings that were free and printable and hexey like we want them. That would be a really great addition to this community.
Lotus
August 3rd, 2007, 12:32 PM
I'll have to start working on some templates, one of the goals should be that the models have to fold up, this makes storage a breeze. Also, we should probably attempt to have ruins for as many of the structures as well can, first I work on a simple building which is basically a full page printout per wall and the roof, so 5-6 pages will give you a 3ish story building. I'll also have to figure out how to make them sit properly on the hexes? Maybe a cutout in the center where a 7 piece hex goes, then you fit your building over this?
Let me know, I am off to work now.

That's a cool building, but too expensive. The war store link is a much better deal. Cheap flat rate shipping puts the total at $27 instead of $33. And if you buy more there is no additional shipping at warstore.
There is also a ruins version of the gothic building.

Cavalier, would you be opposed to letting me use those graphics after I get somewhere with the templates?
They need more texture though, basically they need heavily aged to give a mild case of neglect. Right now they are far too clean.
Anyways, the whole battlefield looks great, seems like a blast to play on.

Funny thing about that light post, it's actually a mast for the Megablocks Pirates of the Carribean ships that many of have used for boats. My boys put it on a map once and I thought it made an excellent light post. :P

I am actually rather partial to the stuff by Worldworks games that someone mentions a few posts back. The Mayhem line is perfect for Marvelscape, and Platform Command and First Light lines add the more interesting scifi aspects. I'm going to be getting some of this stuff real soon because I want to add some extras to my boards.
I also know that GW makes several very Gothic and dark buildings that if you time it right you can often get for under $20 if you are lucky.
There is also another line of modular terrain with multiple uses too. I can see anything from industrial compounds and oil refineries to factories. Then there are the uses of some parts for the base of a villain. I have a Hexagon and a Platformer set and am looking into ways to put it to use on a board or two. Hope this gives somebody ideas for some awesome customs.
Here are some links, though other sites sometimes sell it cheaper.

There are other Marvel City Mega Bloks buildings as well. There is a construction site battle set that looks like it has a lot of potential. Various figures fighting it out on scaffoldings. I really need to get it.

Off topic, but I went to the Mega Bloks site. I clicked on the Plasmaverse display that's up right now because I thought they might have some of that alien egg-looking terrain. They don't, but I noticed this on one of the toy robots in that line:
Spoke scoffs at dialogue and diplomacy as alternatives to military resolution. Impatient, sneaky and confrontational, Spoke believes in the proliferation of nuclear arsenal, mind altering plasma technology and directed energy weapons intelligence as the only method for solving global conflicts and guaranteeing stability.
Who on earth is that ad copy intended for!? The kids won't know what it means, and the parents won't want them to play with that guy when they're young and impressionable! I guess there's a narrow age range where boys will understand it and want the evil robot it describes, but it just seems weirdly political to me.

Nice, I'm gonna have to see if I can find one. I think the Mega Bloks Alien Agency stuff also has some potentially useful buildings from what I have seen and am looking to find those as well. Also own a Hexagon and a Platformer set. I included some links to other stuff by that company in an earlier post. Once I have a little more time and cash I am really hoping to start churning out some decent terrain and custom figures.
Meanwhile, I'm watching all the successes and failures and trying to learn from each. Keeping my fingers crossed that my first group of customs will come out pretty well balanced. Til then, the least I can do is throw out links to potentially useful stuff I spot.

The problem with the flatpack plywood buildings is the price. I know, as I looked at them as an option too (NB: A company called Flying Bicycle do a lovely laser-cut high-level gantry, but this is also a tad expensive...)
However, there is an alternative...
http://www.amera.co.uk/product.php?range=z
Whilst the top few are trenches, scroll down and you'll see building similar to the plywood ones, but for a much more reasonable price. Z233 Factory is just screaming out to be used in Marvelscape. Several of the items in the Fantasy section would work well fro regular 'scape as well.
Alternatively, get some Plasticville S-scale raliway buildings. Just the right size for 28-30mm figures and can be used straight out of the box.
They can be found here:
http://www.charlesro.com/store/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CRSC&Category_Code=OBPTA
I personally have the fire house and aircraft hanger and they work fine scale-wise and you can build 'em with removable roofs. Chuck the vehicles however, they're rubbish...
