I said other there are enough Dragons and elves for the moment, even though there is only one undead I don't care for the idea that much, I think the on and only wizard of Heroscape Morsbane is enough as well.
I would like more mystical creatures besides the ones I am OK with at the moment.

I would like some dragon riders, wizards perhaps.

Not neccassarily new dragons though.

Thier ability could allow them to "ride" an adjacent dragon that moves say.

Dragon rider: If character x is adjacent to any dragon when it moves you mave choose to place/move  character x adjacent to same dragon.

something like that would be cool.

I like the dragon rider idea. I picked Dragons. u can always use more dragons... However the undead would be cool.. But I would like to see something like a pirate ship. Make it an exspantion set of a ship. With a bunch of extra Water tiles and and also have it come with a crew of about 5-7. It will have a cannon that fires in the way the cannon in Battlemasters works... that would be some good stuff..

Ok.. I got it..... We need some LA Gansta Figures.... Make like 3 guys from 13 street... The spec. power would be called the DRIVE BY... it would work like this... Target one of your appoenets figures...Roll 3 attack die for every figure within two clear spaces of the targeted figure. (frend or foe) Targeted figure receives no damage. Only figures within two clear spaces of targeted figure...

markwars

The day that LA Gangsta figures are added to this game is the day that I quit buying everything. :?

I'll give my thoughts on this polls choices and then subject anyone that reads my post to my wish list....

Undead - I know that there are scads of fans, but I'm pretty much "meh" on these. If we get a few more to go with Sudema then great, if not then no big deal.

Dragons - I know I want two more. The first one I want is a blue dragon (and yes it needs to have lightning as it's breath weapon). The second needs to be a massive gold dragon with spell casting abilities. I hear a lot of people clamoring for an Einar allied dragon, but I could careless if the creators do that.

Elves - Hmmm...I'm pretty happy with what we have gotten so far. It's hard to imagine what else we could get. Perhaps an Elven Druid or a band of Elven Rangers....or maybe even some Drow? I'm not sure, but I can wait on these.

Wizards - For right now we have enough. Some of the Kyrie already act like wizards and I'm sure well get more of those. I would like to see someone with a shapeshifting ability though.

Other - This got my vote. What do I want? I'm glad you asked....

My wishlist....

Pirates! Pirates! And more Pirates! I also want their ships. And I want a new expansion to allow for more water play.

Sea Creatures - If you get pirates you need beasties to attack them in the water. I'd love to see some Merfolk, a large Sea Serpent (think dragon), a giant squid, and any other manner of sea denizens.

A few more dino riding orcs. How cool would a Triceratops, Stegosaurus, and Apatosaur look with orcs on their backs? Since we've also got Pleistocine Epoch Saber Toothed Tiger riding orcs, what about a massive Wooly Mammoth or maybe a Wooly Rhino? Me wantee.

Elementals - I want more figures like the Obsidian Guards. We need elementals for air, water, and earth now. I wouldn't even mind some ice elementals since we have those nifty glaciers now.

The giant Marro creature from Thormun's Journal. 'Nuff said.

Horses - I know the game designers can come up with rules so that we can have mounted knights and cowboys. And while we're at it can we get some mounted Apaches with bows and arrows too?

Zulus and lots of 'em.

Space aliens - Based on the expansive range of creatures that movies like Star Wars created shouldn't we have more aliens in this game? I'm talking about pink and purple creatures with lots of eye stalks and tentacles and the like. We've got robots....let's get more of the slimy types.

Dwarves - How on earth can we have elves without dwarves? And that brings up a host of other humanoid creatures that I want.....goblins, ogres, kobolds, gnomes (not the lawn variety), halflings, etc. And if we're going to be talking about all of these D&D types....why not get more of the beasts too?

OniX
June 28th, 2006, 12:14 PM

Yes i think Huge Treefolk would be great...They would be HUGE and have spots where u can put 2 Small or Medum Figures in them... Special Power would be something like Before attacking and after moving you may first attack with Both or One of the figures in the tree figure...

markwars, I'm liking a lot of where you're going.

Zulu's could be a Roman's style pack with a ranged squad and a melee squad, both with frenzy of course.

A gold and/or Oriental dragon would be cool.

Something that I thought of today is a common Deathwalker squad that bonds with the 8K or 9K. Maybe some kind of Zettian variant. I just thought that would make the DW's a little more appealling. I know the blanks on the blue dice aren't going to disappear.

As far as Gangsta, that would be a relatively easy one to pull off. I've seen something like Homey figs (I think that's what they called them) in the 25 cent gumball machines at places from time to time. All you need is to make the card and base the fig.

I do think more undead would be great for the sole purpose of rounding out the reason of including Sudema... why have an undead Queen if she has no subjects in the game?

But instead of Zombies, I would rather see a squad of undead skeletal warriors, a vampire hero, and a squad of wraiths.

I also agree with the call for dwarves in the game!! We have elves, dragons, wizards, knights, but no dwarves?? Something doesn't compute!

But for new figs in a new category, I would vote for modern day US Marines or Rangers. It'd be great both for gameplay and new special abilities, but also a nice tribute to our fantastic armed forces. Special powers could include 1) calling in an air strike/bombardment, 2) coordinated attack bonus, 3) Med Kit, 4) "Shock and Awe" attack reducing target's defense stats.... etc...

I like this, except for the "calling in an air strike" idea. For the same reason I don't like the drop...where is the plane!?! The drop, and I'm sure airstrike, is a great tactic and mechanic in the game, but makes the least sense.

I'm not one of those that think fantasy games should be totally realistic but the invisible airplane thing is not necassary. A robot or alien squad could have simulated the drop with a "teleport in" kind of ability. Air strike can be a wizards lightening special attack (or Thor?).

I do agree, we need more modern day heroes. I was actually thinking of a fireman with an axe that would have some kind of rescue ability.

Regarding the US Marine/Ranger "Air Strike" special attack, I agree... not possible in the game due to the lack of planes and off field artillery... And Kyrie wouldn't really be able to simulate an air strike in the same manner they CAN do an AE drop.... so I withdraw that special power recommend.

The whole Sudema undead queen thing got me thinking. The dragons represent mature specimens (and also royalty), so why not some lesser dragons. Maybe a squad of hatchlings.

As far as Samurai heroes, I'm going to have to say Mugen and Jin from Samurai Champloo. Sure Mugen is not technically a samurai, but I won't hold that against him.

For that Mimring to sea serpent mod maybe just cut the bottom flat so it looks like some of the body is underwater? Having a unit that moves freely on water, but is slowed on land is an interesting idea.

Don't get me wrong, I love the little buggers, and wish they would get their due.
But what would they DO?
What would justify their existence?
We already have vikings, scotts, and other things that our mythos of dwarves come from.
What would set them apart?
And tunneling in a game like this is a stupid idea. so come up with something better.

I think it would be cool to have a big robot with an axe arm that can cut down trees... maybe dwarves could do that too...

A Seleucid war elephant (Einar's first big critter). Not on the list, you say? Then zombies. Or maybe an elven Blademaster. We *don't* need more dragoons.

I was just thinking today that what Heroscape in general and Einar in particular needs is a war elephant. The late Selucid ones were the coolest, with their armor and all (although the 18th century Indian/SE asian ones with light cannon on their backs are a close second).

I agree about the dragons (although dragoons might be cool). :)

Pirates

Something I thought of yesterday was a common mortar squad. Something with really long range and a common hero foreward observer unit that can be used as an alternate set of eyes. Get the observer into position at a good place and the mortar guys start launching attacks ( range 12 maybe? 2-3 die explosion special attack ) The observer would be a pretty weak unit, but very dangerous when paired with his buddies 6 hexes back behind the ruins.

A STANDARD carrier!
Like... a guy with a standard of one of the generals, who's power is to, on his turn, can allow soldiers to move towards him, or take a turn with a squad of soldiers or warriros or something to that effect.

I think it would fit the flavor of the game. It could be a multiple unit type bonding...unit (no, bondings wouldn't stack).

During downtime at work, I sketched out an outline for where I'd like to see the line go from Waves 6 thru 10.5. In sketching this out I was thinking not only of what I'd like to see, but the manner in which I'd like to see it released and when I'd like to see it.

Quick Key...U means Unique, C means Common. The number preceding that letter is the number of figures in the squad. No number means one figure.

Here's what I have so far:

2006 Convention Exclusive: Evil Raelin (Utgar U)
-The long desired evil version of Raelin, as seen in the comics, would be perfect as this year's repaint exclusive.

WAVE 6: Early November 2006

6-1a. Blade Elves (Ullar 4C)
-A squad of frenzying melee warriors to pair with the Aubrien Archers. Perhaps some link to the Elf heroes, listed below. About 60-80 points.
6-1b. Vampyre Courtesans (Utgar 3C)
-Stealthy and agile female Vampyre warriors, with abilities that enhance or complement Darklords. About 70-90 points.
-This package will also include a glyph that allows all of your troops to Frenzy.

6-2a. Skeletal Warriors (Vydar 4C)
-Undead spearmen to march into battle behind Sudema. With bonding abilities and a good move speed, they are the cornerstone of an Undead theme army. About 30-50 points.
6-2b. Skeletal Archers (Vydar 4C)
-Yup, that makes 8 figures in this pack...little to no land will be included to help offset the cost. I'd love to see a return to the nice theme packs of Wave 1. Archers and Warriors in the same pack....brilliant! Also a good way to give Vydar some much-needed cheap cards. About 30-50 points.
-This package will also include a glyph that negates Bonding.

6-3a. Pegasus-Mounted Elf Knight (Ullar U, double-based)
-A powerful, flying Elf Knight...works well with the above-listed Blade Elves. The tank of any Elf theme army. About 120-160 points.
6-3b. Unicorn-Mounted Elf Healer (Ullar U, double-based)
-A female Elf healer, riding on a fast unicorn...think of her as the ambulance of your fantasy army. About 100-120 points.
6-3c. Blade-Elf Champion (Ullar U)
-A female melee warrior, skilled in the art of attacking many enemies on one turn. A rival to Syvaris in her backstory. About 100-120 points.
6-3d. Elf Falconer (Ullar U, with tiny Falcon figure)
-Inspired by the classic custom, but with a tiny Falcon figure instead of a boring marker. I'd also prefer that the figure be female. She should offer some boost to nearby Elf archers. About 100-120 points.

6-4a. Anubian Watchdogs (Utgar 2U, with bodyguard markers)
-Inspired by the popular custom. Two Watchdogs that can bond with heroes of your choice. About 100-150 points.
6-4b. Skeltal Darklord (Vydar U, large DW9K style base)
-A large skeletal monstrosity to aid your Undead army. Benefits from their deaths and the deaths of nearby figures. About 125-175 points.
6-4c. Vampyre Darklord (Utgar U)
-The source of the Vampyre menace, he works well with his squad. Stealthy, powerful, and tough to kill. About 150-180 points.
6-4d. Utgar Kyrie Warrior #2 (Utgar U)
-A female Utgar Kyrie...inspired by the prototype figure. Gives a new option to the Minions, and could perhaps enhance them in some way. Flying of course. About 80-100 points.
6-4e. Dark Elf Witch (Utgar U, with magic markers)
-Rounding out this horror-themed pack is a Dark Elf Witch. I wanted to add the Grut Witch of custom fame, but then thought that magic didn't seem to fit the Orc world so much, and I have a lot of Elves in this wave, so why not create a little rogue Elf? She's mean, she's powerful, and she's got some crazy magic planned. About 120-160 points.

WAVE 6.5: Early December 2006

6.5-1a. Scorpion Beast (Utgar U, double-based, with poison markers)
-We kick off a large desert themed box with this horror. She can poison you, pinch you, and otherwise make you wish you'd kept the hell out of her desert. About 150-200 points.
6.5-1b. Djinn (Vydar U, large DW9K style base)
-A being of pure magic, the Djinn manipulates the very fabric of the game, changing order markers, dice rolls, and other events to suit your fancy. Very powerful, very tricky. About 200-250 points.
6.5-1c. Sand Dragon-Mounted Lizardman King (Einar U, double-based)
-The King of the Lizardmen, mounted on a wingless, nimble sand dragon. Leader of the forthcoming Lizardmen of Icaria. About 150-180 points.
6.5-1d. Anubian Chariot (Utgar U, double-based)
-An Anubian Darklord driving a battle chariot...this figure can actually transport single-based figures around the battlefield, and combine their attack with that of the Darklord. About 140-160 points.
6.5-1e. Horse-Mounted Arabian Deser Bandit King (Einar U, double-based)
-Right out of Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves, this bandit king leads an army of desert warriors as he rides across the sands. About 100-140 points.

I'd also consider, sometime around wave 12 or beyond, slowly adding a sixth general...or rather, a sixth faction. My idea would revolve around a foe that is basically made up of the summoning energy itself. His units would be feaky energy beings and alien-like beasts and corrupted Kyries...things that would not likely fit anyplace else. his first units might be simply corrupted Kyries that foretell his arrival on Valhalla. But maybe not.

And I'd also entertain the notion of licensed figures from the Marvel or DC universes. Or Star Wars. I'd like Halo, Aliens/Predator, and others, but those will never happen.
